22 | God sanctions murder of the innocent? | Genesis | inmyheart | 161856
Hello, You stated in the last part of your post "People can argue that God really didn't mean for Abraham to kill Isaac, yet obviously Abraham killing Isaac would have been the right thing to do, so there is no difference." The difference is Abraham knew God would not kill his son, God is not a murderer. That's why he told the men that were traveling with him to wait for him, Gen 22:5 Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you." Abraham did not say "we may or may not return!" God bless inmyheart |

23 | is smoking a sin? | 1 Cor 6:12 | inmyheart | 161393
If smoking is demonic, then so is chocolate cake! Like any addiction, it will be a process (Romans 12:2). When a person is saved, their souls are elevated to a higher standard of living, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), therefore, our minds are now in the process of being renewed to that higher standard of living. The power to change is in the Higher Power, Jesus! God bless inmyheart |

24 | Beleiving and Knowing | 1 Cor 1:21 | inmyheart | 161226
Great scripture, but there are knowers in the pews, in the choir, etc., who are not believers! When a person becomes a believer, then he will know. God bless inmyheart PS Great to hear from you again! |

25 | Beleiving and Knowing | 1 Cor 1:21 | inmyheart | 161137
Life and Death! 1 Corinthians 1:21 (New King James Version) For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not "know" God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who "believe." I knew there was a Christ, but I didn't know Him until I believed in Him. We are not knowers (is that a word), we are believers. inmyheart |

26 | Sexual Sin Follow up | Gen 2:18 | inmyheart | 161134
Thank you for your kind words, but it is by the grace of God that we extend our hands to those who seek the answers to their struggles. 1 Corinthians 6:12 (New Living Translation) You may say, "I am allowed to do anything." But I reply, "Not everything is good for you." And even though "I am allowed to do anything," I must not become a slave to anything. May God continue to bless you as you post here on this site! inmyheart |

27 | Sexual Sin Follow up | Gen 2:18 | inmyheart | 161123
What's that term they use today, hooking-up! Where you do everything but have intercourse. My friend instead of you and your girlfriend trying to see how close you get to the actuall act, why don't you see how close you can get to God. If you do more of the "do's" you will not hve to worry about the "don'ts". Even Paul stated that he wished that all men were like him, but if you must marry then do so. If you are honest about your relationship then you and your girlfriend should get counseling, because this is not just about you, it's also about her. But thank you for being transparent and believe me you are not alone, there are many who are and have and will be in your shoes, and God is not up there with a bat ready to clobber you over your head, He loves you, and He allowed you to come to this site to get your answers, now it's up to you, choose to live! God bless, inmyheart |

29 | Is belief in the bible needed to be save | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 160856
The Bible is the source to find the answer you are looking for. I can't speak for everyone on this site, but for the most part if you are asking a honest question, you will get a honest response, and no one is going to judge you for that. Sometimes a Christian will be the only Bible a non believer will read--2Cr 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:(KJV) You should assume what I quoted 3:5 is in reference to what 3:1-4 is saying! Thank you for replying, and keep on seeking. Jhn 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: Jhn 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. 2 Timothy is speaking of the last times, that there would be perilous times and how men would act out, but 2 Tim. 3:5 says "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." I might add, you have a way of stirring up the nest. Peace inmyheart |

33 | 1Pe 3:6 "...and do not give way to fear" | 1 Pet 3:6 | inmyheart | 154444
The last part of 1Pe 3:6 states in the KJV...and not afraid with any amazement. The essential characteristic of Generalized Anxiety Disorder is excessive uncontrollable worry about everyday things. This constant worry affects daily functioning and can cause physical symptoms. V.5 speaks of women in the old testment days of "trusting God"...SOoo...if we are trusting God what are we to worry or fear about? I'm not a qualified Doctor to give you the advice you seek, but I do know you are not alone. Connect with other Christians who have and are struggling with anxiety and build that support group...Romans 12:2 says that we are not to be conformed or pressured into or squeezed into this worlds pattern of thinking, but rather we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Our souls have been elevated to a higher standard of living, but our MINDS are in the process of being renewed to that higher standard of living, day by day. God's Kingdom system of living is powerful to overcome and have breakthrough. And then we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God is for our lives. Grace plus Truth equals accountability and responsibility and fault and blame leads to shame. God loves you just as you and your wife are, but loves you too much to keep you the same way you are. Thank you for letting me share and I pray for the breakthrough you seek. Peace inmyheart |

35 | Types of Fornication(Masturbation) | Matt 15:19 | inmyheart | 107293
Spiritual points about masturbation: 1. Masturbation causes you to be "mastered" by sin: The Bible says that there are only two things that we can be a slave to: sin or righteousness. There are no other masters. Paul wrote, "Do you not know that if you yield yourselves to any one as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?" (Romans 6:16 NKJV). Which master does masturbation bring us under? In almost every case, it is used to complement lust and the Bible identifies lust as sin in several places. For example, Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, "But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." When you consider that masturbation usually includes thinking about what it would be like to have sex with someone (i.e. lusting) while simulating the physical feeling, its easy to see that it brings us under the master of sin. God does not want people to be mastered by sin. For example, he told Cain, "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it" (Genesis 4:7 NKJV). Cain let sin rule him by murdering his brother Abel. His life was drastically affected. He lost his job, his peace, his home, and his blessing and spent the rest of his days as a "restless wanderer" (Genesis 4:12). Likewise, we have the same opportunity to choose our master. If we choose sin as our master, our life will bear the fruit that sin brings - i.e. destruction, sorrow, dissatisfaction, death, etc.. If we choose righteousness as our master, we will reap life! Paul wrote: 20When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:20-23 NIV 2. Masturbation uses your body as an instrument for sin: Your body is to be presented and used as an instrument for righteousness (not sin). Paul wrote, "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God" (Romans 6:12-13 NKJV). God can best use us when we keep our "vessels" (body, soul , spirit) free of sin. Paul wrote: "In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart" (2 Timothy 2:20-22 NIV). God bless |

37 | is burning the pages of the bible wrong? | Matthew | inmyheart | 104165
Is burning the blank papers in the back of the bible to roll a joint wrong? Is it a sin? The blank pages of the Bible is the closest you will get to rolling papers! Is it a sin to burn those blank pages, no! It's a sin to smoke that weed that's in that paper. You can burn the Bible, rip it up and throw it as far away as you can, but nobody will be able to destroy the Word of God! This is what Jesus says: Mt:24:35: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Jesus said that all the Law and the Prophets hinged on two commandments. These are, to love the Lord our God with all of heart, and all of our minds. The other is to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. "If we will walk in the Love of God we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh". Christ has delivered us from the law of bondage and set us free with the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. God Bless P.S Your peers have enough money to buy the weed, but no money to buy rolling paper! That use to be an old jail house trick. Tell your friends too quit pulling your leg and get a life.. IN Christ :) |

40 | Prayer without an Answer??? | John 17:23 | inmyheart | 101779
John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." Your question is too vague! Be more specific. The above verse makes the statement "If you abide in Me,"- you will be surprised how many will pray, but have no fellowship with God. So when you say "Is the problem on the person' side or somewhere in between???" Fill in what is your relationship with God. God bless |
