21 | earth divided | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 166033
I have heard it said that this refers to Tectonic Plates, and the start of Continental Drift, but I am not sure, it is just speculation I don't believe that this can be proved right, or wrong? ,however, I am inclined to think that this might just be the case. |

22 | What tenses do they use, past, present, | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 166052
As far as the original Biblical texts are concerned there are no capital letters in either the Greek, or the Hebrew. I know for a fact that NT Greek has past presant, and future tenses, I am not sure if this is also the case with Hebrew. No doubt some one on this web site will advise us both. |

23 | Does Satan Really Exist? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 166121
My understanding of Job 1:6-12, is that Satan is a real person, the LORD says so , and that is good enough for me. It is abundantly clear from the above verses, and also Ch 2:6. that Satan is not able to do anything without Divine permission, this is confirmed in the NT at 1st Cor 10:13. This explains the apparent contradiction of 1 Cron 21:1, and 1 Sam 24:1. |

24 | Does Satan Really Exist? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 166298
Thank you drbloor for your posts of 17th, and 19th of Jan 06. In reply let me comment as follows. You ask if Satan is a person or not, you then state that the word Satan means adversary, this of course is correct, you then go on to say "there was a adversary in Job, and I am certain he was a person", Thereby answering the very question you had just asked? You state that Isaiah Ch 14, and Ezekiel Ch 28 refer to to men only, and not to Satan, if this is so then please explain how the king of Babylon fell from Heaven as described in verse 12? In Ezekiel 28:13, how did the king of Tyre get into the "Eden, the garden of God"? Now regardind Divine permission, in my ESV Bibly, Job 2:6, reads, And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life", please tell me how this can be considered as anything other than Divine permission?. God also uses the personal pronoun "your". indicating that He, God is speaking to a person, and not something other that a person. |

26 | Is baptism required? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 167154
No, baptism is not required for salvation, but it is God's prefered option, read 1st Peter 3:21, (NKJV), as the Lord wishes you to give a public demonstration of your conversion to, and acceptance of His provision of your salvation. Also do what Doc says. |

27 | Did more than one God make man? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 167183
No the Lord is refering to what we call the Trinity, one God in three persons, this word is made up of two parts, Tri, which means three, and unity, which means one. If you want to know more about the Trinity, then go to the right of this page, and in the space headed Word(s) or ID No, type in the word Trinity, and then hit search. |

Further to the above, the Hebrew word translated "us" is a plural noun, and although the Hebrew plural means three or more, that is not it's prime meaning here, beter understood as overflowing, like "Holy Holy Holy", it is in fact difficult for me to describe, no doubt others will give a more comprensive explanation.
29 | is there proof in scripture of that? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 167220
Have a look at Genesie 1:1-2, in verse 1 we are introduced to God the creator, and in verse 2, to the Holy Spirit. John 1:3, tells us that all things were made through Jesus, and without Him was not anything made that was made. I have no difficulty in seeing all three persons of the Godhead active in the creation. In Colossians at 2:9, we are told that in Him, that is in the Lord Jesus the whole fullness of Diety dwells bodily, that is to say all there is of the Father, all there is of the Son, and all there is of the Holy Spirit, dwelling whithin the person of the Lord Jesus. |

Hi Princess MJ. Thank you for your post. Have a look at Isaiah 48:12-16, and you will find that the last part of v 16, indicates that the person speaking in the first part of this verse is Jesus, also it's a great verse in the O.T. to show the Trinity. |

32 | In heaven are we male or female? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 168346
The way in which we will be like the Angels when we get to Heaven is that as they live for ever, and do not therefore need to reproduce their own kind, neither will we. For this reason sex is no longer necessary, and our resurection bodies will therefore not have primary, or secondary generative organs. |

33 | In heaven are we male or female? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 168400
Yes it is speculation, but no more so than your post of 9.34 am. in the first line you use the word "Possibly",i.e pure speculation. You also say "there is no real indication that angels are genderless". Quite true, but there is no indication that they are not. You also say "There is nothing in the Bible that indicates people will lose or change sex in eternity" once more you are quite right, but there is nothing in the Bible which says they won't. You use the word "seems" twice in the last paragraph, again speculation. You say "Jesus retained his gender", please provide Chapter, and verse to support this, I am not saying that there arn't any, just that I am not aware of any. At Matt 23:37, Jesus likens himself to a hen gathering her chicks, does this make him female? God is refered to as He, and Father, does this make Him male? Please let me know just what you think Jesus was intending to convey at Mat 22:30. |

34 | why does Leviticus have such harsh laws? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 168465
In order to indicate the utter abhorrence that God has of the way in which fallen man behaves, but He is also a forgiving God see John 8:2-11, and John 4:16-18, when Jesus does not condemn the woman who had a number of husbands, also Luke 7:36-50.
35 | How old is God | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 168558
For God to have had a beginning, someone other than God would have had to have created Him, and that is an impossibility. What I am not able to understand is why this question was asked in the first place? |

36 | jesus,real birth date | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 170681
Why?. What does it matter when Jesus was born? As far as I know, only two dates can be predicted, one is past, and is refered to at Luke 19:44, "You did not know the time of your visitation", the other, which has nothing to do with christians, as we will not be here, is found in Daniel 12:11-12. Both of these dates are for the Jews only, one refering to the first comming, and the other to the second comming of their Messiah. |

38 | In heaven are we male or female? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 172879
Thank you for your post annointed child. A spiritual body yes, but also still a physical one, we are told quite a lot in the Bible about the spiritual body. Read 1 Cor 15:42-58. John 20:19-23. Luke 24:31-43. John 20:15. Luke 24:31. A spiritual body is flesh and bone, has internal organs, lungs, a digestive system, is able to appear, and dissappear at will, can pass through solid material, has the same marks it had before death (nail prints), is not allways recognised at first. |

39 | After feast at the Jews Jesus went where | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 177982
Which feast of the Jews are you refering to, please give the Biblical reference.
40 | After feast at the Jews Jesus went where | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 178249
When you say after Jesus feed the Jews, I am taking this to refer to the feeding of the 5000 as refered to at Matthew 14:13-21 if so in this case He went up on the mountain to pray as shown at verses 22-23 of this chapter. If on the other hand you are refering to the feeding of the 4000, then He got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan, see Matthew 15:39 but I have a feeling that this is not the answer you are looking for, if so can you be more specific by quoting, Book, Chapter, and verse/verses. Thank you. ebrain. |
