21 | Raven and John Reformed, Baptism? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 36835
Dear brother in Christ, Tim Moran, Thank you for taking time and giving attention to this subjest of baptism. I was baptized after being saved (having the born again experience). Those whom the Lord used to lead me to him stressed to me the importance of repentance, excepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and transformation by the renewing of my mind. It wasn't until about 1 year after salvation that I was baptized. I attended a small church at that time and was baptized in a lake. It was a wonderful experience! Even though we may view this as a work, I enjoyed it as an unexplainable experience. I was filled with the joy of the Lord! I think that I had a wonderful baptismal experience and would recomend to every one that they view baptism as bonding with Christ. A "work" that is rewarding! This is my final post on this subject. Thanks to all of you who helped me to learn more about baptism; RAVEN, John Reformed, Hank, tuli, Emmaus, wordoer, Reformer Joe, Eagleone, and childoftheking. You have helped me grow! God Bless each one of you! Your brother always in Christ Jesus, Cyclist |

22 | biblical references about anger | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 37439
Good Day to you nhsdrummer01! Scripture references with regard to anger: Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Eph 4:26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, Eph 4:27 and do not give the devil an opportunity. Eph 4:28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. Eph 4:29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Eph 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Eph 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.Col 3:8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. James 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. You can do a search. It is located to the right on the forum page. Praise be to Jesus! Cyclist |

23 | Does God justify Murder, | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 37537
Dear God's faithful warrior, Praise be to God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ for your resent conversion. Welcome to the family of God! I hope that you do not mind that I give you an answer to your question even though it was not directed toward me. With regard to the senario you presented, I can only offer scripture and they are as follows: Matt 19:18 Then he *said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS; Matt 19:19 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Rom 6:2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Rom 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! Rom 6:16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? Rom 8:10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Rom 8:12 So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- Rom 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Rom 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. I hope that this helps. Again, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF GOD! Always in Christ's Love, Cyclist |

24 | Jesus at Nazareth which book did he read | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 37540
Hello Jude21-25, Praise God for all of the great things He has done! Jesus read from the book of the prophet Isaiah. Luke 4:15 And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all. Luke 4:16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. Luke 4:17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, Luke 4:18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, Luke 4:19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD." Luke 4:20 And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. Luke 4:21 And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing God Bless you! Cyclist |

26 | Is our dress a reflection of our heart? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 39098
CDBJ and Mommapbs, To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever! Mommapbs, There was a tug in my heart when I read your post about your son. Is all well? I would be very happy to pray with you at any time about any thing. My e-mail address is in my profile. I read your posts about the way we dress and is it a reflection of our heart. Memory fails me with regard to scripture at this time but I would like to comment on this and maybe the scripture I've attached would be helpful. (KJV) Col 3:23, 24 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. I believe with you that we need to search our hearts when we dress. If we are doing everything as unto the Lord then I shall dress acceptable before the Lord each day! Not to please man or women. This does not me that I will wear worn clothing to my office, I am a manger. I wear that which is acceptable to my business. Just to share a story about dressing in the house of God: There was a woman, about 30 years of age, that attend our Sunday school class. She would wear tight dresses and one time she wore a dress with very thin shoulder straps with a very thin or no bra. The reason I and others knew that this is because she was cold, get the idea. Well, men are men, and men are weak sometimes in this area, and men were looking. It was an uncomfortable situation. I'm not judging her, I'm just sharing this to point out that if dress as men/women pleasers we distract ourselves and others from the Lord's service. Always your brother in Christ Jesus whom I love with my whole heart! Cyclist |

28 | Essence of lesson of Job? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 40618
Hello dskander! All praise and glory and honor be to God our Father! and, to His Son Jesus Christ who died for our sins! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! you write: also to have confidence in your self to speak with him, argue with him as your friend. Could you please clarify your answer. How does your answer relate to the scriptures below? It appears that you are stating that it is nessecary to have confidence in the flesh. Phil 3:3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, Rom 9:19 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" Rom 9:20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? Your brother in Christ, Cyclist |

35 | Is speaking in tongues for today? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 47034
Brother John Reformed, I shall praise my God when I arise in the morning! I will still be praising my God when lay down to sleep! I will praise my God from my heart where Jesus dwelleth! Blessing and praise and glory and honor be to God our Father! and to His most Wonderful and Holy Son Jesus Christ! Praise Him! Praise Him! Haven't exchanged posts with you in a while brother. How is the new Grandbaby?!?! I to was involved with penticostal churchs for about 12 years. I witnessed profecying (spelling?) in tounges with interpretations. Both profecying and interpretation came through me as well. I still do speak in tounges sometimes but it is always when I am alone with my God. You raised an interesting question. My spiritual mother, the woman who lead me to Jesus, spoke in tounges in the factory where I worked, whenever and wherever! Needless to say she was feared by most others, and, very much respected by all! Everyone knew that if they had a conversation with her, they where going to hear about Jesus Christ! I love her so much! You did raise a very interesting question: "If tongues are meant as a witness to unbelievers why is'nt it occuring today?" I am anxcious to see some responses to this. Always, your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

36 | Cyclist, 4 questions on tongues, plus 1 | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 47085
Dear Searcher, As long as I have breath I shall praise the Lord! I will praise Him for His goodness! I will praise Him for His unconditional Love! I will praise Him for his mercies! I will praise the Lord! I am glad and praise God that these questions have been presented to me from you. Here are my answers: 1. OK 2. I did not know that and Why are you asking me? 3. Again, what is the reason for this question? 4. I do not understand this question. Would you ask it in more detail? 5. Forgive me forum, I used the word "profecying". It should have been "edification". Searcher, As I stated before, I am glad and praise God that these questions have been presented to me from you for two reasons. 1. If I have posted something that is misleading to others, or, If I have been fooled by a spirit that is not of God, I will accept correction and be wiser. 2. I don't think, in fact I know, that I have posted nothing in the past that has been worthy of your response to it. With all sincerity, THANK YOU! Finally dear Searcher, Please do the best that you can to give me proper guidance in this or any other subject where I need it. Please dear Searcher keep in mind that it is not nessecary to "put me on the ropes" to get me to accept correction. I have always prayed to God for a teachable spirit. Thanks again for posting these questions! I love you in Searcher! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

37 | Cyclist, Did your church obey 1 Cor14:27 | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 47145

I will lift up my hands to him in the morning before my household is awake! I will praise Him! Searcher, I will be delayed until the weekend in getting back to you with an answer to your most recent question. I have been hindered from getting on the forum throughout the week. I will, however, answer them. Until then, God Bless you and Thank you for giving this subject your attention. In Jesus Christ our Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

38 | Cyclist, Did your church obey 1 Cor14:27 | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 47872
Dear Searcher, The Lord our God is blessed forever! I praise my God for His goodness and for His loving kindness! I praise Him for His mercy that endures forever! I hope your week went well. As promised I wanted to get back with you on the questions that you posted for me. 2. No I am not aware of this fact. Thank you for giving me this information. I pray to God that I will never be used by the enemy in estatic speech. What does "estatic" mean? 3. My interpretaion experience was like this: During a service we were singing songs to the Lord. After a particular song the entire congregation was caught up in praise to God. The praise continued for several minutes. There were many people, at least three, speaking in tounges. Then everything became very quite. I then quoted the following scripture (I had not memorized these verses prior to this): Rom 8:5 and 9 "For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you" So it was edification and not profecy. 4. Point taken. I am afraid that you will not find me very much of a challenge as an expert. You will find the very description of me in the following scripture: 1 Cor 1:26 For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; Have enjoyed this exchange with you Searcher. I am truely persuaded that you are a gift to this forum, by that I mean, someone like yourself is needed here to keep things in line with the word of God, and, to keep the enemy from fooling us. This is why I am thankful for you! Please keep up the great searching! God bless you, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
