301 | Can a person ever loose his salvation? | Hebrews | Cyclist | 51483
Brothers and Sisters, Blessed be the Lord our God forever more! Praise be to Jesus Christ to whom ALL POWER has been given in heaven and earth! Does anything in the scripture verses I've listed below relate to the discussion of "loss of salvation"? Note especially in vs 15 "but he himself will be saved." Would appreciate comments from anyone. 1 Cor 3:10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 1 Cor 3:11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 3:12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 1 Cor 3:13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. 1 Cor 3:14 If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 1 Cor 3:15 If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Your brother in Christ Jesus my Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

302 | Hebrews 6:6 explained | Heb 6:6 | Cyclist | 37745
lonelyblue12, Hello! Cyclist here. Praise the Lord Jesus for the price that he paid for us! A debt he did not owe! There are some good postings on this scripture verse from an earlier discussion. At the top left of this page where it reads "Questions/Notes on Verse" type in Heb 6:6 and click "Go". What this verse says to me, my opinion only, is that when some one falls away, like I did once, that no matter what any one said to me to try to bring me back into repentance it had no effect. I knew the word of God more than most of them! I had tasted of the Spirit of the Lord! I'd had a wonderful experience! But I fell away. It was only through the conviction of the Holy Spirit and His use of the Word of God that I was brought back into the family of God. For I had fallen away, no doubt about it! Because I could not serve God the way that I desired, I had always wanted to be a great pastor or teacher and have the perfect God fearing wife and children that served the Lord the way that I did, I gave up and decided to live accoring to the desires of the flesh. Thankfully, Jesus loved me, and still loves me enough to draw me toward him. But no person (Christian) could bring me back to repentance. Praise you Jesus for what you have done for me! Hope this helps. Much love in Christ! Cyclist |

303 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | James 5:14 | Cyclist | 75307
Dear Forum Family, Blessed be the name of the Lord our God and His Son Jesus Christ forever more! Praise the Lord for His love and mercy and grace! Praise the Lord for He is good to His children! Praise the Lord for His patience with His children! Let everything that has breath praise the name of the Lord! Praise Him from the mountain tops! Praise Him from the valleys! praise Him! It's been quite a while since I've visited. Without going into any long details, I have been very busy! I have a question for those of you who are my elders and my brothers and my sisters on this forum (I pray that those of you whom I consider my elders or Brothers or Sisters know who you are.) Here it is. Even though this body I have been given is in great shape (I spend at least ten hours per week excercising it and the doctor tells me "I wish all of my patients were in as good of shape as your are, except for....."), there exists a cuouple of malfunctions. Sparing you all of the details, I was taken from my office to the emergency room on Wednesday morning. Woops! Got so caught up in all of that, I almost almost strayed away from posting my question! WHY SEEK HEALING FOR THIS BODY? Please, please don't get me wrong. I get annual physicals and that on my own, it is not required for my permenant illnesses. And, I do always go to my physician when having problems. When I read the holy word of the Lord my God I so desire to be with Him in His kingdom! Again, don't misunderstand me please, I haven't gone off my rocker, not yet anyway. Why seek healing for this flesh that will not inherit the kingdom of God? I know that the Lord our God has blessed us with some very good doctors, but, I'm having difficulty understanding the purpose. Honestly, it seems sometimes that the closer I am to death, the happier I am because I will be with the Lord forever. Again, I'm NOT CRAZY! Never the less, If here (on earth) is where His desire is for me, then here I am happy to be. Blessed be the Lord forever! I posted a couple of scriptures below. Please I pray you my friends, help me understand through the word of the Lord our God. I am thankful for each one of you! Bless you as you prayerfully consider your answer(s) to me. Your input is very important to me on this issue. Col 3:1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Phil 1:23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; I always pray for you my friends. Always your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord, David (Cyclist) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

304 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | James 5:14 | Cyclist | 75318
Searcher, Praise be to the Lord! Bless His Holy Name! I will give thanks to the Lord for this answer! Praise Him! It is with tearful joy that I post this response to you! The scripture you posted, James 5:14, along with your answer really, really helps! James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; Notice the word MUST in this verse. Not only am I allowed to be healed through Christ, but, this verse is directing me (MUST) to ask for healing. Something I have not done. I have not asked for this body to be healed. I have always just prayed that others be healed. Blessed be the Lord forever! Thank you Searcher! Bless You! David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

305 | can you forgive someone you love if they | 1 Pet 3:5 | Cyclist | 36468
Good day to you Alliss! Praise be to Jesus! He is the way, the truth, and the light! All glory be to Him! The Webster dictionary defines forgiveness this way: to pardon; to cease to bear resentment against; to cancel (as a debt); to exercise clemency; to grant pardon. The Word of God on forgiveness, and these are just a few: Mat 6:15 "But if you do not forgive others, then your father will not forgive you." (NASB) Mat 18:21,22 (21).....how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? up to seven times? (22)"I do not say to you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." 1 Peter 3:5 is the verse is the refrence to your question. One could get the idea that this question has to do with a marital relationship. If so, you may want to give a little more detail. That is up to you though. This is a forum for all eyes to see. If not you may want to seek guidance from your pastor or a christian counselor. In Christ's Love, Cyclist |

306 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | 1 Pet 3:21 | Cyclist | 56343
flowerforlife, Praise to the Lord my God shall continually be in my heart! I will make a joyous noise to th Lord! I will praise the Lord! Welcome to the forum! The way I start my postings really has nothing to do with the subject of it, I just always like to start and end my postings with praises to God. I may be a little confused, and, usually am very easily, just ask my wife, but, it appears that your post on the subject of baptism is linked to a queation asked on 4/4/01. Have you done a "quick search", upper right of this page, on this subject? If you haven't, just type in "baptism" or "baptised", and then, I hope you enjoy reading, for this subject has been discussed, debated, and argued several times. Again, welcome! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

307 | What do you do as "saints" when you fall | 1 John 1:9 | Cyclist | 51393
Dear sufficient grace, All praise and glory and honor be to God our father! and, to Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, who thought not of Himself but sacrificed Himself for our sins! I, as well as many others, have been right where your at in your walk. Here are some steps I recomend: 1st. Believe and live by faith. Gal 3:11 Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." 2nd. Find a true and faithful (stronger) believer. some one who walks after the spirit and not the flesh. Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. 3rd. Confess your sin (fault) to them. James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. 4th. Jesus takes care of it. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I too will pray. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

310 | Mystery of lawlessness? | 1 John 3:4 | Cyclist | 41144
Greetings Forum members! Cyclist here With my mouth I will give thanks abundantly to the LORD; And in the midst of many I will praise Him! Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good! Sing praises to His name, for it is lovely! I would like to get some comments from you on 2 Thess 2:7. Should we know already the mystery of lawlessness and how it is at work? Does any one know some other scripture references regarding "lawlessness" as it is used by Paul in this verse? How is the man of lawlessness being restrained? I would appreciate any comments or scripture references on this. 2 Thess 2:1 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 Thess 2:2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 2 Thess 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 2 Thess 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. 2 Thess 2:5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 2 Thess 2:6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 2 Thess 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 2 Thess 2:8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; Thanks in advance for giving this your attention. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Cyclist |

312 | What commandments? Torah? yes-no? | 2 John 1:6 | Cyclist | 140388
Greetings MJH! All praise and glory and honor be to God our father who created all things and to his only begotten son Jesus Christ our Lord! I haven't participated in the forum for almost a year but have checked in from time to time. I don't think that I am really answering your question but these scriptures came to mind. I'm going to track this question to see what type of answers you get. I am interested myself because this question has come to my mind too. John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:14 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. Gal 3:24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. Gal 3:25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Many blessings to you in Christ Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Praise be to the Lord our God for his mercy and loving kindness! Praise be to God who offered his only begotten son as a sacrifice for our sins! Thank you for the welcome back! Made a career change about a year and a half ago and have been hard at it. I am working in a place where spiritual harvesting is plentiful. I enjoy the opportunity to whitness for Jesus! One young man accepted Christ into his life not long ago. It is so great to see a new babe in Christ! They are full of so much zeal! He's reading the WORD every day and we discuss his readings. Didn't mean to drag on brother. I am going to try to be more involved in the forum again if time permits, but, there's nothing like sharing God's gift face to face and I've been able to do a lot of it lately. Always your brother and a full supporter of this forum in prayer, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

octoplus, Praise be to the Lord our God, His love and mercy endureth forever! Liked your post! I would like to add this scripture. Rom 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Rom 13:9 For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Rom 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
