24 | who were the Sadducces and Parisees | Bible general Archive 2 | jlpangilinan | 127804
Here are information about them, you can find it your self in the scriptures following the quoted chapters and verses. EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY ENTRY ON: Sadducees The origin of this Jewish sect cannot definitely be traced. It was probably the outcome of the influence of Grecian customs and philosophy during the period of Greek domination. The first time they are met with is in connection with John the Baptist's ministry. They came out to him when on the banks of the Jordan, and he said to them, "O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?" (Mt 3:7.) The next time they are spoken of they are represented as coming to our Lord tempting him. He calls them "hypocrites" and "a wicked and adulterous generation" (Mt 16:1-4; 22:23). The only reference to them in the Gospels of Mark (Mr 12:18-27) and Luke (Lu 20:27-38) is their attempting to ridicule the doctrine of the resurrection, which they denied, as they also denied the existence of angels. They are never mentioned in John's Gospel. There were many Sadducees among the "elders" of the Sanhedrin. They seem, indeed, to have been as numerous as the Pharisees (Ac 23:6). They showed their hatred of Jesus in taking part in his condemnation (Mt 16:21; 26:1-3,59; Mr 8:31; 15:1; Lu 9:22; 22:66). They endeavoured to prohibit the apostles from preaching the resurrection of Christ (Ac 2:24,31-32; 4:1-2; 5:17,24-28). They were the deists or sceptics of that age. They do not appear as a separate sect after the destruction of Jerusalem. EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY ENTRY ON: Pharisees separatists (Heb persahin, from parash, "to separate"). They were probably the successors of the Assideans (i.e., the "pious"), a party that originated in the time of Antiochus Epiphanes in revolt against his heathenizing policy. The first mention of them is in a description by Josephus of the three sects or schools into which the Jews were divided (B.C. 145). The other two sects were the Essenes and the Sadducees. In the time of our Lord they were the popular party (Joh 7:48). They were extremely accurate and minute in all matters appertaining to the law of Moses (Mt 9:14; 23:15; Lu 11:39; 18:12). Paul, when brought before the council of Jerusalem, professed himself a Pharisee (Ac 23:6-8; 26:4-5). There was much that was sound in their creed, yet their system of religion was a form and nothing more. Theirs was a very lax morality (Mt 5:20; 15:4,8; 23:3,14,23,25; Joh 8:7). On the first notice of them in the New Testament (Mt 3:7), they are ranked by our Lord with the Sadducees as a "generation of vipers." They were noted for their self-righteousness and their pride (Mt 9:11; Lu 7:39; 18:11-12). They were frequently rebuked by our Lord (Mt 12:39; 16:1-4). From the very beginning of his ministry the Pharisees showed themselves bitter and persistent enemies of our Lord. They could not bear his doctrines, and they sought by every means to destroy his influence among the people. God bless, |

28 | Who? What? When? Where? How? Why? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 13096
How could God do what those verses say he did? I know he did becuase He is a God that who cannot lie.: Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; If you see it was written goes WHICH GOD, THAT CANNOT LIE, and not THAT DOES NOT LIE, becuase it is impossible to God to commit lie. If it goes THAT DOES NOT LIE, He could not be lie that particular instances but maybe He can sometimes. I will try to answer some of your question later. In Christ, Johnny |

1) Calling Priests Father: I understand where you are coming from, but I just don't see this as a major issue. Many of these titles were meant to show respect and have different connotations now then when they were originated. I personally would avoid the use of "Father" for clergy, but I have no problem with my son or daughters calling me father. Tim Moran Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. I have no problem also when I called my Dad father. Beacuse I know that when Jesus mentioned this it is not biological. Johnny |

30 | DOES GOD HEAR PRAYRS OF UNBELIEVING JEW | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 22286
EdB, Just some clarifications in your statement: This was your statement: "Without Jesus we can not approach the throne of God. Does God hear the prayers of faithful Jews? I can’t answer that. But this I can, without Jesus they can not find salvation." EdB This is not to criticized your statement, just asking your views about the contradiction it would made in the passages below: Isa 43:10 Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. If we read it carefully, that although we all would agree that Jesus Exist before anything else (Pr 8:22 ¶ The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. Pr 8:23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.) That time the existence of Jesus Christ are not yet proclaim or announce and whatsoever could it be called. But there are savior already. So how we can really sure that they cannot find salvation. Just a clarifications God has covenat with Abraham, and it was an everlasting covenat": Ge 17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 2. Ge 17:3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, Ge 17:4 ¶ As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Ge 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. Ge 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. Ge 17:7 ¶ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 7. Ge 17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. Ge 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. With that covenant how can we easily say that they cannot find salvation. God also mentioned that He never change: Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. If God never change, how about the covenant of God to Abraham that this Nations is God Nations. How come the God nations cannot find salvation? Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;1 He is a God who cannot lie, so if the Nations of God cannot find salvation, then it is God who lie to Abraham. Mary is a Mother of Christ, when Jesus is in His human form: Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Jesus is Before anything was created: Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And I am not agree that my God is insecure created His own mother. Mary was the part of the devine plan of God to bring Jesus to us as a savior in His human form, otherwise how can people crucified Him. God bless, Johnny |

35 | Does the Bible ever lie? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 33300
Praisemaster, Bible doesnt lie, if there are character in the bible that lied it is the character and not the bible. It is the bible said that those characters lied. Do you think if I tell to my father the truth that one of my brother telling him a lie, I am I liar also? It is the bible telling the truth that there are characters in the bible that lied. For example we know that Heroed lied to the wisemen when he told to them that if they find the baby (Jesus Christ) let him know and he worship the baby. It is herode lied and not the bible because it is the bible stated that herode lied. God bless, Johnny |

EdB, It is your own definition that cremation is not improper. What I did in my last post is to get a biblical fact and not with your sciencetific fact. If you not agree with the scriptures that I quoted of what joseph, moses done to the bones of thier fathers, it is not me you are argued with it is the scriptures. Are you saying that what they done is not right? If I am going to follow those kind of caring to the bones of my father did I made wrong? I just want to get the example from them it is wrong or not? and beside even the human body Jesus Christ have been buried but not cremated, if we are going to follow the example what is right buried or cremated? If the cremation is the truly right process, it could be encourage by Jesus Christ and desciples to make process faster as you said. Or are we saying that they dont have Idea about this yet? Jesus Christ, no I dont think so! God bless, Johnny |

40 | Is it right to use the word "Trinity"? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 38221
"You said" three persons, equal in value and essence, yet possessing differing roles in the economy of salvation. But Jesus said they are not equal: oh 14:28 ¶ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. Joh 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. God bless, Johnny |
