181 | adultery vs stealing which is sin worst | Gen 1:1 | Mommapbs | 62532
Greetings foxxy! I applaud Sir Pent's post to you! Here is another perspective on your question. One could ask, "Which is best: Caucasians Blacks, Orientals, Native Americans, Jews, Gentiles, Catholics, Pentacostals, etc? ALL are people. We just attach words to describe them, but in God's eyes, they are just human beings; people who God dearly loves. They are ALL the SAME to Him. For God so loved the WORLD . . .(John 3:16) In the same way,sin is sin. There is no distinction in God's eyes; He hates it ALL! God's Word says: "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23 But thanks be to God that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us! (Romans 5:8)Nothing we can do will make Him love us any more or any less than He does at this moment! I hope you have chosen to receive that love! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Greetings Ben Hur and welcome to the Forum. Use the "quick search" feature and type in dinosaur. The 400 years of silence was the time between the Old and New Testaments - it has nothing to do with the prehistoric period of the earth. mommapbs |

183 | name of GOD ( TRINITY) | Gen 1:1 | Mommapbs | 84183
Greetings jaythomas! Yeshua is the original Hebrew proper name for Jesus of Nazareth . . . Yeshua was the name His mother called Him when shall called Him for supper. (see Messianic.com) In a post submitted by Kalos: "V. THE TRINITY . . . "A. Definition. There is only one God, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and coequal Persons, the same in substance but distinct in subsistence. . . . "Proof. 1. O.T. intimations. The O.T. does not reveal the Trinity but it allows for the later revelation of it." See Gen. 1:1, 26; Isa. 6:8; Gen 22:11, 15-16. . . . "2. N.T. confirmation. In the N.T. there is clear revelation that Father, Son, and Spirit are God; thus a Triunity or Trinity (neither is a biblical word)." See John 6:27; Eph 4:6; Heb 1:8; Acts 5:3-4. These Scriptures indicate that the Father is God, Jesus Christ is God, and the Spirit is God. One God -- three persons. "The three Persons are associated equally and as one (Matt 28:19; "name"; 2 Cor 13:14)." (All quotes are from The Ryrie Study Bible, p. 1936, Moody Press) mommapbs |

184 | What if a christian dies in a sinful act | Gen 1:1 | Mommapbs | 92695
If our salvation (from God's wrath against sin) depended upon our confession of sin, why would the Cross be necessary? Confession DOES NOT determine our forgivness!! We already HAVE forgiveness IN CHRIST (Eph 1:7). The believer's confession of sin (1 John 1:9), as recognized or revealed by the Spirit, is a painful yet joyous experience as he/she reflects on the forgiveness that we already possess and the love of God for us, just as we are, as demonstrated at the Cross! (How's that for having a burden lifted!) IF both were "believers", both would be saved from the penalty of sin because of the redemption of the blood of Christ, not on the basis of their confession(or lack thereof) of a specific sin! mommapbs |

185 | Restoration of a fallen Pastor | Gen 1:1 | Mommapbs | 108992
1 Tim 3:2 states that the "overseer" or Pastor is to be above reproach. In the The Amplified version : "Now a bishop (superintendent, overseer) must give no grounds for accusation but must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, circumspect and temperate and self-controlled; [he must be] sensible and well behaved and dignified and lead an orderly (disciplined) life; [he must be] hospitable [showing love for and being a friend to the believers, especially strangers or foreigners, and be] a capable and qualified teacher," See also Titus 1:7. Does this Pastor fit this description? God knows what is best for him and for your church. God desires restoration - but I agree with what you have been told, not to the position of "overseer." You also have had some excellent counsel to love as Jesus did, ministering with the deisre to restore the fallen to a right relationship with the Lord - this is the most important thing to consider right now. I understand your hurt - praying with you and for you! Blessings! mommapbs PS: Nothing can hurt your witness more than to act in an un-Christlike manner to one another. They (unbelievers) will know that we are Christians because we love one another. Jesus said, "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35 |

186 | was there a judgment or the gap theory" | Gen 1:1 | Mommapbs | 108995
Greetings! This is a Bible Study Forum not a place to discuss "theories." Frankly, the most important Truth for you to understand is found in the first four words. Whether or not there was a "gap" is immaterial to that! Do a web search if you want to see what men have to say. Stick with the Bible if you want to know what God says. Blessings, mommapbs |

188 | its some to think about | Gen 1:1 | Mommapbs | 199534
Greetings blue eyes and welcome to the Forum! This is whatGod's Word has to say: When Jesus comes to earth again (Rev 19:11vv) He will reign for a thousand years (Rev 20:6) and then the whole earth will be judged (Rev 20:11-15. John tells us, "THEN, I saw a new heaven and a new earth" Revelation 21:1. God is making all things new (Rev21:5, not all new things. He will restore what He has created to its original perfection. 189 | God's Second disapointment | Gen 1:2 | Mommapbs | 73187
Greetings Malspa! Before the creation of man, God created the angelic order. See Ez 28:14-15 et al. God won a victory over the rebellion of Lucifer and his followers in power. Yet He wins us by His love! Rev 21:5 tells us that God will make all things new, not all new things. We know that in Christ we are a new creature (2 COr 5:17) but no where do we see any evidence of God preparing to create another order of being because He is unhappy with man. Blessings, mommapbs PS: I don't connect how light is the response of God because He was unhappy with the earth! God is Light, in Him there is no darkness. I suspect that when He said "let there be light," it was only to reaffirm His presence in the midst of sin that had entered the universe through Lucifer. |

190 | What is the light in Genesis 1:3? | Gen 1:3 | Mommapbs | 132274
Greetings! "This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all." (1 John 1:5) " . . .Christ was to suffer, and that by reason of His resurrection from the dead He would be the first to proclaim LIGHT (emphasis mine) both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles." Acts 26:23 When God said, "Let there be Light," imo, He was revealing Himself. 2 Cor 4:6 tells us, "For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." Contrast this with, 2 Cor 4:4 "the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." The LORD is God, and He has given us light;(Ps 118:27) Job askes, "Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, And whom God has hedged in?" (Job 3:23) Perhaps the answer to Job's question is that God gives us Light ( which is Christ Himself) to be known! Jesus said, "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed." John 3:19-20 Although the Light has been given, men reject the Light, because their deeds are evil, and when the Light shines upon them, they recognize them as such. So imo when God said, "Let there be light," He had a twofold purpose, first to enlighten men to the Presence and reality of a knowable Holy God and secondly as a mean s to reveal our sinfulness. (see also Dan 2:20-22; Job 12:22) I hope this has helped! May the Light of Christ shine upon you! Blessings, mommapbs |

192 | Did God experience what human did in O.T | Gen 1:26 | Mommapbs | 141073
Welcome to the Forum chair! First of all remember that with God all things are possible! Mt 19:26. 194 | which nation actually resembles God? | Gen 2:7 | Mommapbs | 49738
Greetings aurrance. Your questions prompt a bit of concern. Please don't try to make God fit YOUR ideas about Him - He alone reveals Himself as He IS! The Hebrew for man is pronounced aw-dawm, from which Adam is derived. It's also related to aw-dawm-ah, which means red earth, or red clay - indicating the natural earth elements that composed Adam's body, and the body of every human being since. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; Gen 1:26 Although man was made in the "image of God," this does NOT mean than man resembles God! How do we know what skin color Jesus had? Does anyone have a picture of Him? All we know from Scripture is: "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him." Isa 53:2 As far as "colors" are concerned; God is color-blind. He loves everyone equally. (He would even love us if we were multicolored polka-dots!) God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. Acts 10:34-35 God is not blind to sin -we are all stained by this pigment! Perhaps this is the only "color" we should all recognize, for THIS is what separates us from our Holy God. As you "help others" be sure to use the Bible - it is the "last word" on everything! Blessings, Mommapbs |

195 | Are there any "people" created by Satan? | Gen 2:7 | Mommapbs | 75802
Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning GOD created the Heavens and the earth." (See also John 1:1-4) Verse 3 says, "All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being." From these two Scriptures, it is clear that God alone is THE Creator. We should not be ignorant about the devil, for he is a powerful being; but he was created too! mommapbs |

Greetings Huron. Since God told them that they could eat of any tree in the Garden except THAT one, doesn't it make sense that God also gave them an opportunity to do just that? They could choose to obey or not obey. Sound's like free-will to me. Blessings, mommapbs |

197 | suggestions for third graders | Gen 2:15 | Mommapbs | 54404
My daughter just attended a Christian Camp. While she was there, she learned a little song that told a wonderful truth. "Obedience it the very best way to show that you believe!" Even a third grader can understand that! What do you think, when we are tempted to disobey, isn't the temptation really aimed at our faith? Seems to me that disobedience is felt most keenly at the "trust" level rather than the actual breaking of a law. Just some thoughts! Blessings, Mommapbs |

198 | why the need for a sacrifice? | Gen 2:17 | Mommapbs | 34172
Greeting Chynna! I just recently posted this note to a fellow forum member and I am copying it for you to consider in light of your question. Blessings, Mommapbs. This is taken from "The Fragrance of Death" In reading the book of Leviticus, we learn about all the sacrifices that the Israelites were required to make. There sure were a lot of dead animals! Although I understood the necessity of blood (“for without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness” Hebrews 9:22), I did not understand how these offerings could be “a pleasing aroma unto the Lord.” Lev 4:31 I’ve smelled burning flesh and it is anything but sweet! I’ve also smelled death. To me, the stench of death is repulsive; yet what I was reading in Leviticus prompted me to ask, “Why is death an attractive fragrance to God?” I found the answer in a devotional by Tommy Tenney called The Daily Chase. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? II Corinthians 2:15-16 I asked, “What was the “aroma of Christ?” God, through Tenney, answered: “It was His death!” To God, the smell of death is pleasing; I finally understood why God required so much blood! The penalty for sin is death and the Life is in the blood. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.” Lev. 17:11 Something had to die, for without the shedding of blood (death) there is no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no way for God to come close to US! God wanted His people to be able to draw near unto Him. Yet He is Holy and our sin prevents the intimacy that God longs for; so He provided a Way - from the first sin covered by the bloodied skins of animals to the last covered by the perfect blood of Christ - we come to God only through the blood. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 Those who been bathed in the shed blood of Christ are a pleasing aroma in God’s nostrils. Yet, to “those who are perishing,” we, who wear the “perfume” of the Christ, are odious. Non-believers will make every effort to close the windows of their souls or run for the bag of lime to remove the repulsive insult of Jesus to their senses . . . John the Baptist was the first to understand the sacrifice of self that God calls us to make when he said, “He must increase but I must decrease.” (John 3:30) And the Apostle Paul instructs believers to “present our bodies as living sacrifices . . .” (Romans 12:2) We do this by denying our “self will” in exchange for His “good will!” Jesus tells us, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23 By doing so, we can live the “abundant life” that God so longs for us to have with Him daily. When we are “dead” to self, Christ is able to live His life with and through us to accomplish His purposes. God loves the smell of death . . . Jesus said, “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.” Matthew 16:25 What fragrance are you wearing? How you “smell” to God is the only thing that matters! Are you bathed in the sweet aroma of Christ? Have you become a “living sacrifice” or are you still crawling off the altar? Are you dead yet? Deny yourself, die to self and live! |

199 | I think I'm hopeless... | Gen 2:17 | Mommapbs | 34200
If God was weak, we would all be hopeless, but God is Almighty and it is just by His grace, His mercy alone that we are not condemned to death for our sin. Why animals? Why blood? The only clue I have is this: "The life is in the blood." Lev. 17:11 declares: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement." God has declared that "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." He makes the rules, not us. God did not change His mind about the necessity of a blood sacrifice. He promised us a Redeemer immediately after the first sin.(Gen. 3:15) Without the Promise of God,no one would be saved from the penatly of death. How God chose to reveal His Way, from the covering of Adam and Eve with the skins of animals to the atonement by their blood is a picture and foreshadowing of Christ, God's ultimate manifestation of His great love and mercy for us! To transfer to penalty of my sin to His precious Son is AMAZING and never ceases to cause me to bow in humble submission to Him for what He has done for me! Only those who have rejected such a wonderful gift are to be pitied. As for the animals, remember that God gave them to us, not the other way around. Innocent slaughter? This is but another reminder of Christ's innocence. "He who knew no sin became sin for us"; He stood in our place, He was the subsitute, He IS the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world! Even when you don't understand God's ways, I encourage you to PRAISE HIM AND THANK HIM for who He is! Blessings, Momma |
