181 | John 14:1-3 | NT general | CDBJ | 214776
Greetings, The verse you have stated is for all believers. God has no less love for the slightest person who believes in Jesus as their own personal Saviour. John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. God is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 1 Peter 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: CDBJ |

182 | Giving it up to the Lord | NT general | CDBJ | 214545
Greetings, The more promises you can claim from God’s Word the better off you will be. This takes a lot of study and perseverance but the Lord is able. Look at the mess that Abraham started when he tried to accomplish what the Lord promised that He would do with regards to giving him a son! The Lord does things in His own good time, turn it over to the court of heaven and let the Lord do His work. Ephes. 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Ephes. 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. CDBJ |

183 | Why did Jesus fold His burial napkin? | John 20:7 | CDBJ | 214157
The napkin and the way it was “folded” The truth is Jesus didn't fold the napkin, he actually went through it. John 20:7 KJV And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Notice the difference between the KJV and the NASB versions. John 20:7 NASB and the face-cloth, which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself. The Koine Greek word for “wrapped” is the word entulisso, Greek 1794, Strong’s entulisso, en-too-lis'-so; from Greek 1722 (en) and tulisso (to twist; probably akin to Greek 1507 (heilisso)); to entwine, i.e. wind up in wrap in (together). It was the burial custom to use a heaver cloth, or napkin material, to wrap the head of the one that was buried. It was much thicker and approximately 3” wide by our standard and held quite a bit more of the past mixture that was used to cover the wrappings of the one that died. When John got to the tomb, he was the first one there but he didn't look very well. The word BLEPO is used for look, it's where we get the word blip like on a radar screen, i.e. a quick look. John 20:6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, The word "seeth" in the Greek is, theoreo, Greek 2334, Strong’s theoreo, theh-o-reh'-o; from a derivative of Greek 2300 (theaomai) (perhaps by addition of Greek 3708 (horao)); to be a spectator of, i.e. discern, (literal, figurative [experience] or intensive [acknowledge]) behold, consider, look on, perceive, see. Compare Greek 3700 (optanomai). Peter was giving it the "CSI look for any clues" and he spotted the wrappings still rolled up in a ball. It's not recorded in scripture but he likely yelled out, "HA JOHN" come in here and look at this! The wrappings of napkin as it was called was still rolled in a ball the shape of Christ head and had likely rolled off of the flat stone that held the body of Jesus and the body wrap still laying flat due to lack of support, i.e. no body in it. There was no way that Jesus could have come out of those crisscrossed wrapping without tearing them apart but sure enough they were still intact with the small opening that was the location of Christ neck. It would be like you covering a balloon with paper dipped in plaster of Paris and covering all but a six inch diameter at the bottom then when it all dried popping the balloon with a pin. Jesus didn’t unwrap the grave clothes or napkin he actually went through them without disturbing them, faster then the twinkling of an eye. The result of the crisscrossed napkin being still wrapped as it had been when place on the head of Jesus brought about the firm belief of the resurrection to the disciples with utter shock. John 20:8-9 So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb entered then also, and he saw and believed. 9For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. The word now used for “saw” means with full understanding from the Greek word, eido, Greek 1492, Strong’s eido, i'-do; a primary verb; used only in certain past tenses, the others being borrowed from the equivalent Greek 3700 (optanomai) and Greek 3708 (horao); properly to see (literal or figurative); by implication (in the perf. only) to know be aware, behold, can ( not tell), consider, (have) know (ledge), look (on), perceive, see, be sure, tell, understand, wish, wot. Compare Greek 3700 (optanomai). They sure believed when they saw the round ball still wrapped together with no head in it! They already believed in Christ, but now they believed in the resurrection, no if and or buts! I hope this helps, CDBJ |

184 | Rapture | Rev 20:1 | CDBJ | 214127
Greetings, I have been a Christian for well over 40 years now since I trusted in the finished work of Christ, and up until about 15 years ago I have been a staunch believe in the pretribulation position although there have been many questions that didn’t quite add up. I came across a book called, “The Rapture Question Answered” by Robert Van Kampen, ISBN 0-8007-5631-2, who shortly after writing the Book went home to be with the Lord as though his job here on earth was finished. His book couples all of the different assumptions that believers have concerning, what we call the rapture, and he causes all of them to fit into a very plausible outcome. This is the only book that I have read on eschatology that has answered the basic problems that I have found in my favorite subject in the Bible, future events. I have read countless books on the subject and this is the only one that has tied everything together. It’s actually an offshoot of his first book called, “The Sign” which is quite lengthy but very informative for one who is an ardent student of eschatology and who likes to study and dig out truth. There are no contradictions in God’s Word and until one finds the answers that cause all of scripture to fit, together in harmony they have not found truth. If in reading this book one “skips around”, they will not understand the truth it contains! I would consider it a must read for all believers, especially in the day and age that we find ourselves in! Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 2 Thes. 2:3 (A) Let no man deceive you by any means: CDBJ |

185 | lest the cross of Christ be made of no | NT general | CDBJ | 213987
Greetings, 1 Cor. 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. Paul in this verse wants to instill upon those hearing the message of the gospel that God’s salvation resides in what God did for the lost in the person of His Son Jesus the Christ on the cross. He wanted it to be known that God did the work and not have one be convinced because he was an aliquant speaker who convinced them of something that they really didn’t have. It's not because Paul said it, it’s because God actually did it and we are to believe, or rely on, the fact that our redemption is assured by the work that was finished on the cross. John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. (Bible Knowledge Commentary) Paul’s primary charge was to preach the gospel (9:16) not with words of human wisdom. Brilliantly persuasive eloquence may win a person’s mind but not his heart, whereas the unadorned words of the gospel, though seemingly foolish by human standards, are made effective by the Spirit of God (2:4-5). 187 | Actual bodies in heaven? | 1 John 3:2 | CDBJ | 213869
Greetings, I would like to direct your attention to the verses in Luke 16:18-31 where the individual found himself in hell. Every one of the senses associated with the body with the exception of the sense of smell are mentioned. When those who put all of their hope for eternal life in the person of Jesus the Christ they are promised a body like that of Christ at the resurrection. It will be a body that will be able to function just as our present bodies yet without the draw back of wearing out seeing that it won’t have an old sin nature. We will be able to function on this Earth, which will also be resurrected, where in dwells perfect righteousness. 2 Peter 3:13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. The souls that are temporally residing in heaven are quite restricted until they receive their eternal bodies. Rev. 6:9-11 And when He broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; 10and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, wilt Thou refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" 11And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, should be completed also. The exact form as you have mentioned isn’t found in the (KJV) of the Bible. You inquired about the following, “Master, is that you?” However this verse is close to what you suggest. Matthew 14:28 (NASB) And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." CDBJ |

190 | continued pursuit, or saving faith | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 213710
Greetings Beja, I believe the verse in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. The word "cometh" in the first half of the verse is the Koine Greek word (proserchomai). The preposition (pros) at the first of the word designates going toward God. The word is used in the present tense, those coming now, and in the middle voice, which means that the one coming is participates in the action of the verb and the accusative case, it is caused. This would apply to the doctrine of God actually calling the one coming. This gets one started in the right direction with their faith. Once the put their FAITH in the one God appointed, Jesus God’s Son, they become a new creature able to grow further in the knowledge of just who Jesus is. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. This is impossible apart from having a living spirit, which is given at the point of salvation to live the spiritual way of life. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Faith doesn’t actually grow, as it were, but the content of our faith increases as we learn more and more about the Living Word and the written Word and it’s all a function of God’s matchless grace. My take on the subject, CDBJ |

196 | Daniel 11:11-12 two different days | Daniel | CDBJ | 213109
Greetings, This is from the, (Bible Knowledge Commentary) The angel said that 1,290 days will be measured off from the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished (cf. 9:27, “he will put an end to sacrifice”) and the abomination that causes desolation is set up (cf. 9:27, “one who causes desolation will place abominations on a wing of the temple”). The last half of the 70th “seven” of years is “a time, times, and half a time” (7:25; Rev. 12:14), which is three and one-half years. It is also designated as 42 months (Rev. 11:2) or 1,260 days (Rev. 11:3). How then can the variance of 30 days (1,290 compared with 1,260) be explained? Some suggest that the 30 days will extend beyond the end of the Tribulation, allowing for the judgment of Israel and the judgment of the nations. Another possibility is that the 1,290 days will begin 30 days before the middle of the 70th “seven” of years when the world ruler will set up “the abomination that causes desolation” (Matt. 24:15). The 1,290 days could begin with an announcement (about the abomination) made 30 days before the abomination is introduced. This abomination, as stated earlier, will be an image of himself (Rev. 13:14-15) and will be the symbol of this religious system. 12:12-13. Blessing is pronounced on one who waits for and lives to see the end of the 1,335 days. This is an additional 45 days beyond the 1,290 days (v. 11). Forty-five days after the end of the Tribulation Israel’s long-awaited blessings will be realized. This may mark the blessing of the Millennium; or it may be when Christ, who will have appeared in the heavens (Matt. 24:30) 45 days earlier, will actually descend to the earth, His feet touching down on the Mount of Olives (cf. Acts 1:11). For believers Christ’s coming is a blessing and a glorious hope. Daniel did not live to see many of his prophecies fulfilled. He, the angel said, would rest, that is, in death (cf. v. 2). But he will be resurrected (you will rise at the end of the days), and he will receive his allotted inheritance in the Millennium. Because of Daniel’s faith in God he led a life of faithful service for Him, and for that faith and that obedience he will receive a glorious reward. All who like Daniel trust the Lord will share in the blessings of His millennial kingdom. CDBJ |

198 | Why did they oppose Jesus and how? | NT general | CDBJ | 213055
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The basic problem was then, and still is today, is the fact of who Jesus Christ was and what He did. The answer to that question is the difference between an individual spending eternal life with God or suffering eternal punishment in the lake of fire forever. John 20:30-31 Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. 1 John 5:10-13 The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness that God has borne concerning His Son. 11And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life. John 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. I sure hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

199 | why so much space on tabernacle details? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 212606
Greetings Dashel, Reading the Bible is a noble thing to do but the strange part is that it’s nearly impossible to understand the Old Testament with out the understanding of the key that is found in the New Testament. The Bible, as a collection of books, can not be understood with what we call human IQ. God the Holy Spirit has to be the one that educates people to the truth contained in Scripture by bringing their human spirit to life for the cognition of spiritual truth contained in Scripture. 1 Cor. 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." The word “see” in the following verse carries the connotation of perception or understanding. My Advice would be to start in the New Testament at the book of Mathew and read at least through to the book of Revelation before attempting to read any of the Old Testament. Have a great day, CDBJ |

200 | Hebrews10:26-31 | Matt 11:28 | CDBJ | 212346
Greetings, You are to the point where you know you need help and that is where Jesus comes in. The apostle Paul was the worst sinner of all and look what Jesus did for him. 1 Tim. 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Christ has a plan for your life but you must totally trust Him for it to be effective. God wants to have a personal relationship with you through the person of His Son if you are willing to put you life in His Hands. Mark 2:17 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." . God has a gift for you and it resides within the person of His Son. John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. 18"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Merry Christmas, CDBJ |
