Amen! We died when we belived on the Lord Jesus Christ! This is how we moved into this new life Christ! This truth is vital if one is to move on in maturity with God and walking in the Spirit. The Rational mind has a problem with it, but it is the truth and the key to or freedom from the sins that so easily beset us. Romans 4 thru 8. God bless, Tim |

124 | What is "Moral Law"? | Gal 2:20 | tj57h@cs.com | 88911
We are learning to live and move and have our being in Christ by a new and living way written on our hearts not in an outward written code. As we do this we should be falling in line with the 10 commandments, but we do not walk by these outward rules or any other regulation. As we learn Christ and how to walk in the Spirit we become more obedient through the empowerment of his spirit. See Romans 4-8,and Gal 2:20 Romans 4 we are righteous because of faith in the blood shed by Jesus for our sins and the penalty of the law has been removed. (Eternal damnation for not obeying the 10 commandments) No outward code or LAW can do that. I hope this helps! Love, Tim Hines |

125 | OSAS? | Gal 5:4 | tj57h@cs.com | 88374
I am only concerned with the attitude that this doctrine is presented with. Sometimes is is with an arogance that I can do what I want and get away with it. This is not true we have the liberty to sin, but it always has consequences, our Father will hold us accountable. Those who do not believe you are saved and kept saved by faith, by default believe that it is by their works they are saved, and this is a works doctrine and those who practice salvation by works are "fallen from grace" (Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law (Works based religon); ye are fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith) not menaning lost if they are born again, but they are short circuiting the grace of God that wants to flow through them. 126 | OSAS? | Gal 5:4 | tj57h@cs.com | 88385
Romans 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. We are in rightstanding with God by faith not works! The fact is born again people are held very highly accountable to the Father for their disobedience, but they have the liberty to sin, shouldn't, but do. If we commit a sin he is faithful and just to forgive us. 1 John I believe. WE HAVE A LIVING RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD HE WILL BRING US AROUND IF WE GET CARRIED AWAY! I hope this has helped! Love Tim |

127 | Justification by works impedes grace | Gal 5:4 | tj57h@cs.com | 88527
Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. KJV I believe most people have not studied their bibles and walked in the Spirit enough to understand what this scripture is saying. I believe there are many misunderstanding about “being justified by the law: and “Fallen from grace”. I will try to shed some light on it! Being justified by LAW is justification by works, mainly walking before God by adhering to outward ruses and regulations. Like the 10 commandments (I am by no means saying go out an break the 10 commandments, I am saying that we are not walking by an outward code or a set of rules, we have a new life and we are to walk in it.) and taste not touch not and handle not: Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments F12 of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting F13 of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. Most of our traditional religions of the day practice some form of “Works” based theology. It is all right if the Spirit has led you into wearing only dresses, no makeup and beards, but if you look down on your brothers and sisters in condemnation because they do not have that revelation. That is not LOVE it is called mans religion and if you practice it is also called SIN. It is “works” based theology. It is faith that saves not works. Rom 4: 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin Many in America and in the world practice “saved by grace kept saved by works. It is clearly written in Romans 4 that we are justified by faith not works. If it were by works then it would be something owed to you and it would not be a gift from God. Romans 4 again. So a believer is walking by works INSTED of in faith of Christ, living and moving and having his being in Christ. He thinks works is justifying him. (Justified by the LAW is works based theology, do this or go to hell. This may have been fine for were the Jews were at the time, but not for the New Testament believer) HE HAS FALLEN FROM GRACE! A lot of believers interpret this statement to mean that they lost their salvation; it is my understanding that they have shut the valve off of Grace flowing freely through their lives, stifled the gifts and fruits from reaching maturity. Grace works as we walk in it. Any comments? Love, Tim |

128 | Justification by works impedes grace | Gal 5:4 | tj57h@cs.com | 88598
Rom 4: 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, As if works could put him in RIGHT STANDING with God, they cannot. JUSTIFIED equals RIGHTSTANDING equals RIGHTIOESNESS equals NOT UNDER CONDEMNATION OF THE LAW equals FREE FROM SIN. ROMANS 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness (RIGHT STANDING WITH GOD) without works (Adhering to an outward written code instead of walking by the Spirit in a New and living way, by CHRIST)7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Grace is the unmerited favor of God, not by works but by faith. Eph 2:8 For by grace (un-worked for favor) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves (Not by works, but by faith): it is the gift (given and kept not by works but faith) of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. I believe many who preach salvation and walking in the Spirit by WORKS believe their WORKS are better than most. IF ANYONE BELIEVES WORKS SAVES HIM OR HER, THEY ARE NOT BORN AGAIN! ONLY BY BELIEVEING IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS PAYING THE PRICE OF OUR SIN ARE WE SAVED! We do works of Righteousness because we are saved by faith, not to be saved. I hope this has clarified the definitions of Justification and Grace. Love, Tim Hines |

129 | Is it Scriptural to avoid offending? | Gal 5:11 | tj57h@cs.com | 89141
Ga 5:11 - Show Context And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 1Pe 2:8 - Show Context And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. I believe the preaching of the cross of Christ is an offence; however, I do not believe we should intentionally offend. People will be offended though. Love, Tim |

Anyone Born again, by Spiritual revelation. Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 1 Corinthians 2: 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing F4 words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Cor 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 135 | Why is the spiritual reality of Christ | Col 1:27 | tj57h@cs.com | 88340
Man has flaws and has a tendency to promote religon insted of true Spiritual truth! The truth is that one must give up their life for Christ. See Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Carnal MAN wants to keep on living! CHRIST IS OUR LIFE! THIS IS THE MYSTERY HIDDEN FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD! Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: SEE: Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. The Fact of Christ being our life:Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. and living inside of us is the most neglected truth in the bible. We live and move and have our being in Christ (Acts) DOES THE VERSE NOT SAY IF WE COMMUNICATE THE GOOD THING THAT IS IN YOU "CHRIST" THAT OUR "FAITH" WILL BE COMMUNICATED EFFECTIVILY? Any comments welcome! love, Tim |

137 | Is God hand so short that he cannot lead | Col 2:21 | tj57h@cs.com | 88859
Why do Christian denominations practice " do not do this, do not do that, wear this don't wear that" When the bible clearly teaches not to? We are to learn to walk in the Spirit through Christ "our life"! Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Not in outward codes and regulations.) A prime example of this inaccurate practice is blatantly stating that drinking wine with alcohol in it is SIN. Clearly to anyone with an 8 th grade education can read that the Bible speaks about fermented wine. The qualifications for bishop and deacon is to not be givin to much wine. Not total probation. The word says to be filled with the Spirit and not with much wine, clearly we are not to get drunk, no question about that in my mind. But blatantly across America it is preached it is a sin to drink period. It is not the truth, why can't we tell the truth as the bible states it and allow the Spirit lead us? Are believers incapable of walking in the Spirit on their own and need a Church leader to tell them what to do? Is God hand so short that he cannot lead us and discipline us for disobedience? I have no problem with a person having a conviction not to wear make up, not to drink or to wear black suits if they believe God has led them in that direction, but to look down on those in condemnation is wrong, many to the point of believing you are not saved if you do not practice their works, like having a beard or women wearing pants. I believe this scripture and its context state that this practice is wrong and could and probably should be exposed as SIN. We do more righteous works and sin less as we learn to surrender and submit to the Lord Jesus Christ and our co-death with him at the cross and our new life in Christ. Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed F21 from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments F22 of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. and Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. In Christ, Tim Hines P. S. I know I shot a religious cow here but, the truth is the truth. |

Sirs, It was contained on my posting; Religion has innocent believers going about doing works, with little thought of ceasing from our own works and submitting to God and learning to walk in the Spirit. I am curious of several things, #1. Why when I say almost the same thing as Tim Sheasby I get this type of comment, EdB and he gets positive supportive comments? #2. Why when it is customary to provide scriptural basis for our comments on this forum, very few people who respond to my postings do so? #3. Do you gentlemen belong to a denomination that does not practice works based doctrines OR actually teaches walking in the Spirit? #4. John my definition of a religious COW would be items that traditionally religious folks would hold as important foundational doctrines, which are not based in truth or is in direct opposition to it. #5. Who hasn’t been hurt by traditional religious doctrines or people who practice it? I know of no one that hasn’t been hindered in the walk by men's commandments, traditions and doctrines. #6. If you have some Spiritual insight you would like to share, supported by some scripture I would like to discuss it. #7 Meanwhile I believe the Church and its leadership needs to step up grow up and start preaching the truth. #8 I did ask a question, do you have an answer? Why do Christian denominations practice " do not do this, do not do that, wear this don't wear that" When the bible clearly teaches not to? I believe it is because of control, pride, ignorance (Due to traditions handed down from leadership, instead of studying the bible for themselves.), and fear. Love, Tim |
