122 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | Ken John | 66067
Thanks for your response. I agree that one's prayer life matures as one grows in Christ. When praying in private I feel closer to God than when praying during our Church Prayer Meetings. Is it the presence of others that I am conscious of or is it that one is feeling forced to pray ? Or maybe there is another reason. Jesus did tell us that when two or more are together in prayer there He is also. Do you feel His Presence then ?
123 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | Ken John | 65641
Thank you for your comments on prayer. As one grows in Christ our prayer life becomes so much more important and we need to take time to pray. Some days I find I am "dry" and struggle to pray. However on other days I have so much and can pray for much longer. Do you have this experience ? I am interested in the pray life of other believers ? Yours in Crist, Ken |

127 | During the crucifixion | Matthew | Ken John | 56185
When Jesus was betrayed by Judas in the garden of Gethsemane BEFORE His crucifiction He made a statement that He could call on "more than twelve legion of angels" to save Him. Read Matthew 26:53. So if He could do so then why not at any other time. But of course we know that Scripture must be fulfilled as you will read in verse 54. Hope that answers your question. In His Name, KJ |

128 | What is permissible for Christians? | 1 John 2:20 | Ken John | 56137
I don't believe that when one becomes a "Christian" one has to have a book of rules to follow as Christ's Holy Spirit will guide your life if you are Faithful to Him. Christianity is not a living performance but it is a life changing RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ our Lord. If you would like to read Colossians chapter 3 you will have a good idea of what God expects of Christians. I hope I have encouraged you. In Jesus, KJ |

129 | Is smoking a sin? | 1 Cor 3:16 | Ken John | 56136
I believe that if you are serious about your walk with God you should stop smoking. God's temple, your body, must be honoured. For many years I was a very heavy smoker (70 sigs a day) but when I repented and asked God for forgiveness and then accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, the urge to smoke left me. I felt is was dirty and ruining my health so this got my mind into the right frame. Both my parents were smokers that's how I caught the habit. It is a habit and as such can be broken if you have the will to do so and you ask Jesus to help you. I must admit the urge came back later but I was now strong enough with the Lord's help to resist. Be strong my friend and set your mind to stopping. Just say " NO " each time and don't be temped with smokes in easy reach. Friends will try and talk you into starting again but, like the devil, resist the temptation and eventually you will gain the victory. Believe me as I talk from experience. May God bless you and give you strength. To encourage you read Psalm 51. Yours in Christ, KJ. |

130 | Should We Get Married Again? | Heb 13:4 | Ken John | 55628
Hello AB, I have been following your question about marriage and agree with what Tim has advised you. It is difficult to resolve these matters oneself with out placing EVERYTHING in God's Hands. Remember He is in control of all things and even Jesus asked His Father in Heaven when He needed help. I have been married for forty years but only because I placed my one time troubled marriage in Jesus' Care. I forgave my wife for her unfaithfulness because as a sinner myself how could I caste stones. As believers in Jesus Christ we have to set the example. It can be very tough as I have experienced over the many years of married life but in the end you will be rewarded. Please read 1 Corinthians 7:1-39 where Paul writes about marriage. I was particularly interested in verses 13-17. I hope this will be a help to you. AB please let Jesus handle your problem. Pray to him in earnest and keep asking Him for His help. Don't try to solve things yourself. Take each day at a time and PRAY. God answers prayer but in His Time so be patient. May God Bless you AB and please keep in touch with the brothers and sisters in Christ who want to help you as best we can through Jesus. In His Love, Ken John. |

131 | Should We Get Married Again? | Matt 19:4 | Ken John | 55471
I am not an expert in this area of marriage but can only refer you to Matthew 19:4-12 as a guide and you will need to pray together about this as God answers prayer. From past experience of others, including my own family, who remarried after being divorced, once there is a rift it takes a lot of courage and prayer to heal the relationship. Have you considered seeking the counseling of your pastor or a Christian Counsellor ? It's really good that your husband goes to church with you. Is he a believer in Jesus and does he read God's Word? Is your relationship such that you can talk openly with him about his faith and how he feels about God and also about you and him and your futures together ? I hope my answer has helped ? You know that Jesus loves you both. Jesus bears our burdons, Ken John. |

132 | Believers or non-believers ? | Matt 24:40 | Ken John | 55468
Makarios, greetings ! I am new to this study programme so need to get used to the format and how to go about dealing with the questions. So am I correct in my understanding of these verses inthat the believers are taken (as was Noah in the Ark) and the non-believers will be left on earth to suffer the consequences of their unbelief ?? I have been told before that the non-believers will be taken to Hell leaving the believers to meet our Lord but this does not make sense to me...do you agree ? Ken John. |
||||||
133 | Who are the ones taken? | Matt 24:40 | Ken John | 55466
I believe that the believers will be taken up to meet Christ and non-believers will be left to face the consequences. The verse 37 clarifies this when it states, "As in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." Noah and his family were "lifted up" in the Ark so it will be with believers who will be "lifted up" to meet our Lord. Do you agree ?
134 | Will the believer or non believer be go? | Matt 24:40 | Ken John | 55465
