121 | same faith same spirit | Eph 4:4 | Pastor Glenn | 137862
Hello jolly, Are you searching for a certain scripture? Maybe: Ephesians 4 One Church, Many Parts 1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[1] all. 11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- 16from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. |

122 | Compare to Romans 10:9; 1 Cor 12:3? | Phil 2:11 | Pastor Glenn | 146453
Hello Mommapbs, First of all, my heart really goes out to you and your family after the sudden death of your son-in-law. Phi 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Phi 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Phi 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Lets add another: 1Jo 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. We are ruled by either the Holy Spirit or the spirit of antichrist. But dispite this, people try to remain neutral. This is acknowledging Christ's deity because God is jealous and does not share His glory: Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isaiah 48:11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. Joh 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: Joh 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Joh 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |

123 | rasied dead died twice? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Pastor Glenn | 106235
1Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. There are exceptions by God's will. But remember, we were not originally meant to die at all. Also the lake of fire is the second death for unbelievers. |

125 | Verse for encouragement in death | 1 Thess 4:18 | Pastor Glenn | 64262
kristi4252725, 1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 126 | Living together | 1 Thess 5:22 | Pastor Glenn | 140429
1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. Hello Chris42, No, but it is probably just a matter of time. Why tempt yourselves? The scriptures say "flee youthful lusts"" 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. At 77 you would probably say "what youthful lusts"? Why not just get married? James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Please consider all of these scriptures. Go and talk to your pastor also. Merry Christmas, Pastor Glenn |

127 | difference between your soul and spirit | 1 Thess 5:23 | Pastor Glenn | 75103
Charlie1, I think that they are not the same: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Job 7:11 "Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. Isaiah 26:9 With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. |

128 | Be content | 1 Tim 6:9 | Pastor Glenn | 137830
Hello Nakia, Here is another scripture for you to consider: 1 Tim 6 6Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain[3] we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. The Good Confession 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. Instructions to the Rich 17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

129 | Response to Content | 1 Tim 6:9 | Pastor Glenn | 137843
Hello again Nakia! As jdbound said, you are absolutly right. However, It seems that you are confused about the difference between contentment and laziness. You can be a hard worker and still find yourself on welfare for a period of time. But, a diligent person will always seek to do better. While he is down though, he will trust that God will bring him out: Phil 4 11Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13I can do all things through Christ[2] who strengthens me. Proverbs 13:4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich. Does this answer your confusion? Pastor Glenn |

131 | Only Gospels as Authority? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Pastor Glenn | 92247
seekingtruth, Hank is right. There is no logic to your questioners' way of thinking. It is clear that they want to stay in their sins. They will resist the truth no matter what book of the bible it comes from. There is plenty in the 4 gospels that you can present, but since they already decided to pick and choose what they want to believe, it is probably futile. The Gospels are built and founded upon the "Rock of offence", the "Stone that the builders refused", the "Word" that the Old Testament prophets spoke of. Jesus Christ firmly showed himself as the fulfilment of the truths that God had told to faithful witnesses from the beginning of time. To attemp to cut off the old testament is like removing the foundation from a building. And to attempt to remove the Epistles is to take away the power of the Gospel, since the Epistles prove the power of God and the Deity of Christ simply by how living witnesses have believed the report of the Epistles and sustained Christianity for the last 2000 years. By the way here is one scripture to start with: Matthew 7:26 "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: Pastor Glenn |

Welcome bsc, Please clarify from your associates whether they meant: 1. the "Old Testament" (first 39 books) 2. the "Law of Moses" (commandments) 3. the "Old Covenant" (God's agreement with His people) It really makes a big difference on how we answer this. People often confuse these. |

135 | Is Jesus Gods son? | Heb 1:5 | Pastor Glenn | 71001
Tony, Welcome to the forum. Before Jesus was born into the world, He had only a spiritual nature. He was God, and was known as the Word (John 1). But after His birth, He gained a human nature (like ours) in addition to his spiritual (God) nature. For better insight, please read both John chapter 1 and Hebrews chapter 1. Pastor Glenn |

136 | how did they structure the church in NT? | Heb 10:25 | Pastor Glenn | 77062
greatfullydead, Welcome to the forum. You said, "I am a part of a worldwide fellowship that has recently came to realize that the organization of the church was taking away the freedom of the chrisitians." What does it mean to take away the freedom of the Christians? Have you studied the book of Acts of the Apostols? Also, you should study the book of Timothy for starters. If Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, then you should avoid saying "We do not want...". The question should be "What does the Lord want?" Greatfullydead is a good handle for those who have died to themselves and begun to walk in the Spirit as in Gal 5:16-26. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

138 | Does God lead us into temtation? | James 1:13 | Pastor Glenn | 66315
cwade, First notice these related scriptures: James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. 16Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Proverbs 3 5Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Since all things work together for good and God makes a way of escape. Then our self preparation prayer should be to prepare us to follow God's escape route. Therefore "Lead us not into temptation" is so that our judgement is not so clouded by lust the we cannot see the way of escape. Pastor Glenn |

139 | Pastor not visiting the sick and Widows? | James 1:27 | Pastor Glenn | 65421
Mae64, Here is what the bible says: James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. Acts 6 Seven Chosen to Serve 1 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists,[1] because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. 2Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. 3Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; 4but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word." Mat 25:34Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' 37"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' 41"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' 44"Then they also will answer Him,[4] saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' 45Then He will answer them, saying, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' 46And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Ezekiel 34 Irresponsible Shepherds 1 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2"Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds: "Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. 4The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them. God, the True Shepherd 11 "For thus says the Lord GOD: "Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. 12As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. 140 | scripture on healing | James 5:14 | Pastor Glenn | 63654
sarajrae, Here is a good starting scripture: James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16Confess your trespasses[5] to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. If you have a reference bible (If you do it will say "Reference Bible" on the edge of the cover), you should learn how to find the references listed for each verse. This will lead you to more related scriptures where you can repeat the process of following more references. Otherwise, you should learn to use the search features of this web site. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |
