101 | Does "find" assume the man is "looking?" | Prov 18:22 | jbw | 88890
Websters definition of find means: To come upon, as after a search or oftentimes by accident. I say that the scriptures mentioned above means that one is actively looking. We look for God to do a whole lot of things we should be doing. If you make your request known unto God that you desire a mate/spouse. I believe that a person at that time should actively look. Not deseparately look but actively look/search. Now the word says he who finds her???. This scripture and Proverbs 31 and linked together...Proverbs 31 lays out for you what the qualities and characteristics this good thing (wife) should have working on the inside and outside of her. I also believe that you should have a check list of what you what him or her to possess. Do you want them witty, charming, good listener, a home maker, blue collared, white collared etc.... You have a punch list for a house or car why not a soon to be spouse? The word also states in Matthew that if you seek you will find and if you knock the door will be open. I've been married twice and neither one of my husbands came to my front door through osmosis. I was out and about and I met them. Make your request known unto God, ask him for his guidance and actively search...Remember a search could take time.....And there is no perfect person......I hope this helped you..p.s. If the Lord bless us on the way we conduct ourselves works we would be some sorry souls......(smile) |

102 | What is the bible say about vow? | Eccl 5:4 | jbw | 82979
Eccl 5:4 When you make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it; for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow! Eccl 5:5 It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay. vow: A solemn promise or pledge to do a certain thing. A vow is a promise to do a certain thing. If you search the scriptures you will find that God is a God of intergrity. His word is BOND. MATTER OF FACT HIS WORD IS HIM. God actually vowed to Adam that if he actually ate from the tree of knowledge good and evil that he would surely die. Adam ate and Adam surely died a spiritual death. We are made in the likeness of God so God wants and desires us to say what we mean and mean what we say. Bottom line in the old and new testament if you vow (make a promise) to do something the Lord God expects us to do it. The result of not keeping a vow ruins your credibility with man and with God. No one will ever take you serious...ever I hoped I helped |

103 | What about if not paying? | Eccl 5:4 | jbw | 83165
Num 30:1 Then Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, "This is the word which the LORD has commanded. Num 30:2 "If a man makes a vow to the LORD, or takes an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. Deut 23:21 "When you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for it would be sin in you, and the LORD your God will surely require it of you. Deut 23:22 "However, if you refrain from vowing, it would not be sin in you. Deut 23:23 "You shall be careful to perform what goes out from your lips, just as you have voluntarily vowed to the LORD your God, what you have promised. 1 Sam 1:11 She made a vow and said, "O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a son, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head." 1 Sam 1:17 Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of Him." 1 Sam 1:18 She said, "Let your maidservant find favor in your sight." So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. 1 Sam 1:20 It came about in due time, after Hannah had conceived, that she gave birth to a son; and she named him Samuel, saying, "Because I have asked him of the LORD." 1 Sam 1:22 But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, "I will not go up until the child is weaned; then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD and stay there forever." 1 Sam 1:24 Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with a three-year-old bull and one ephah of flour and a jug of wine, and brought him to the house of the LORD in Shiloh, although the child was young. 1 Sam 1:25 Then they slaughtered the bull, and brought the boy to Eli. 1 Sam 1:26 She said, "Oh, my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you, praying to the LORD. 1 Sam 1:27 "For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him. 1 Sam 1:28 "So I have also dedicated him to the LORD; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there I know that this is very lengthy, but I wanted you the get the essence of what a vow is and how people of old would have died before they didn't peformed what they said that they would do before the Lord. This is just me talking. I think sometimes we neglect or are not appreciative of the relationship we have with the Lord. It's a honor, because many will reject the Messiah. Whatever God say's that He will do for you can bet your bottom dollar that it is good as gold and it gets done (think about any promise HE'S MADE YOU). God is working on transforming us into the image of His dear son. I have been in this walk now with the Lord 20 years. And I have to admitt that early on I would make a vow and forget I made one. I would make a vow and start it and when I didn't get what I wanted (within the time frame I thought) I would then renigg on the vow. I've been a lot of places IN THIS WALK. But as I grow older in the Lord. He is working intergrity in me. To a point that I want my words to count to Him and the people around me. I want people to say that if she say's this or that she will do it. That's being transform into His image. No!! a curse does not come on you when you don't keep a vow. It just shows that a person has a lot of growing to do. God is full of mercies and very longsuffering. So no He wouldn't allow a building to fall on your head hahahaahaaa. He will just continue to complete the work that he started in you.. I hope I helped you.. |

104 | Please explain Isaiah 60 verse 1 | Is 60:1 | jbw | 115906
Isaiah 60 verse 1. Can someone explain this verse to me in simplist terms possible
105 | Please explain Isaiah 60 verse 1 | Is 60:1 | jbw | 115909
First please forgive my ignorance of the word. But I was under the impression that chapter 60 verse 1 really stated with chapter 59 As for Me, this is My covenant or league with them, says the Lord: My Spirit, Who is upon you [and Who writes the law of God inwardly on the heart], and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouths of your [true, spiritual] children, or out of the mouths of your children's children, says the Lord, from henceforth and forever. [Jer. 31:33; Rom. 11:26, 27; Gal. 3:29; Heb. 12:22-24.] To me it's was like the Lord was re-emphazing his love, mercies, kindness and grace with his people and He was and still is proud of them being a choosen people and with that He was going to bring about great blessings upon his people. Therefore their old way of life meaning suffering and being impoverish those days are over. Because the Light has come and the glory of the Lord has has risen upon you. Meaning a new way of operating in the kingdom, nothind but riches and wealthy and happiness from here on out. |

Can someone please explain this passage of scripture to me? Sometimes things that appear simple are not always simple to me Is 66:7 Before [Zion] travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she was delivered of a male child. Is 66:8 Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children. |

112 | High standard of living? | Matthew | jbw | 83190
Matt 2:11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. I have serveral comments regarding this. Upon the Lord Jesus birth. The wise men bought him gold. And I don't believe that they gave him a couple of pieces. I believe that they gave him plenty. Surely the Lord Jesus didn't live an extravagant live. But that wasn't his purpose. Deut 25:4 "You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing This scriptures says that one is suppose to make sure that Ministers, Evangelist, etc have enough so they can carry out the gospel without hinderances. Mark 15:24 And they *crucified Him, and *divided up His garments among themselves, casting lots for them to decide what each man should take. I use this scripture to show that Jesus's wardrobe was not polyester. This men was casting lots so that once He was dead or even before they could sell his garments. 2 Cor 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. Basically what I am saying is that I don't believe that there is nothing wrong with living comfortably or very extravagant. Kings live very well...Why not a Kings Kid? But not at the expense where an individual is lying and taking advantage of people to gain wealth...But otherwise I see nothing wrong with it. |

114 | Marring a divorced person is it a sin? | Matthew | jbw | 83194
Matt 19:7 They *said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?" Matt 19:8 He *said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. The Lord ANSWERED THIS PERSON THAT WAY Because He knew the whole purpose and intent of this person was to try and trick Him up. Plus it is the law..But Jesus came with mercy and grace..... Heb 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. I personally believe that staying in a marriage that is not fruitful, where no one is agreeing, children being tormenting by fusssing and fighting, just total chaos everyday is not of God. Tell the situation to the Lord. I pray that both parties are saved. Or both parties are not saved. But definitely not one saved and the other one's not. Because that would be unequally yoked. Bottom line no sin have been committed if you married a divorced man/woman....Heck I working on number three...(smile) And live a blissful wonderful life. This is my thoughts only.. |

115 | HUNGER OR THIRST MATTHEW 5:6 | Matt 5:6 | jbw | 82079
I will answered your question with another scripture. Psalm 42 verses 1-2 states this: As the deer pants for the water brook so my soul pants for you O, God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God (NASB). To hunger and thirst after righteousness is like jogging for 5 miles without a water bottle. Only to come to a fountain to find out that the water is not on. You would then jog, run or walk frantically to find another fountain knowing that without the needed water you would dehydrate, passout or even die. The desire at that point should be one of desperation, kool-aid or grapefruit juice will not suffice it has to be water. To not have the needed water would leave you destitute. To thirst for righteousness has to be a desire planted inside of you by God because no one could quench that thirst inside of you but Him. And He will quench the thirst if that's your desire.
