AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ecclesiastes 5:4 ¶ When you make a vow or a pledge to God, do not put off paying it; for God takes no pleasure in fools [who thoughtlessly mock Him]. Pay what you vow. [Ps 50:14; 66:13, 14; 76:11] |
Bible Question: What about if not paying my vow or late? What God do or say?Is it curse? |
Bible Answer: Num 30:1 Then Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, "This is the word which the LORD has commanded. Num 30:2 "If a man makes a vow to the LORD, or takes an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. Deut 23:21 "When you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for it would be sin in you, and the LORD your God will surely require it of you. Deut 23:22 "However, if you refrain from vowing, it would not be sin in you. Deut 23:23 "You shall be careful to perform what goes out from your lips, just as you have voluntarily vowed to the LORD your God, what you have promised. 1 Sam 1:11 She made a vow and said, "O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a son, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head." 1 Sam 1:17 Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of Him." 1 Sam 1:18 She said, "Let your maidservant find favor in your sight." So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. 1 Sam 1:20 It came about in due time, after Hannah had conceived, that she gave birth to a son; and she named him Samuel, saying, "Because I have asked him of the LORD." 1 Sam 1:22 But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, "I will not go up until the child is weaned; then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD and stay there forever." 1 Sam 1:24 Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with a three-year-old bull and one ephah of flour and a jug of wine, and brought him to the house of the LORD in Shiloh, although the child was young. 1 Sam 1:25 Then they slaughtered the bull, and brought the boy to Eli. 1 Sam 1:26 She said, "Oh, my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you, praying to the LORD. 1 Sam 1:27 "For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him. 1 Sam 1:28 "So I have also dedicated him to the LORD; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there I know that this is very lengthy, but I wanted you the get the essence of what a vow is and how people of old would have died before they didn't peformed what they said that they would do before the Lord. This is just me talking. I think sometimes we neglect or are not appreciative of the relationship we have with the Lord. It's a honor, because many will reject the Messiah. Whatever God say's that He will do for you can bet your bottom dollar that it is good as gold and it gets done (think about any promise HE'S MADE YOU). God is working on transforming us into the image of His dear son. I have been in this walk now with the Lord 20 years. And I have to admitt that early on I would make a vow and forget I made one. I would make a vow and start it and when I didn't get what I wanted (within the time frame I thought) I would then renigg on the vow. I've been a lot of places IN THIS WALK. But as I grow older in the Lord. He is working intergrity in me. To a point that I want my words to count to Him and the people around me. I want people to say that if she say's this or that she will do it. That's being transform into His image. No!! a curse does not come on you when you don't keep a vow. It just shows that a person has a lot of growing to do. God is full of mercies and very longsuffering. So no He wouldn't allow a building to fall on your head hahahaahaaa. He will just continue to complete the work that he started in you.. I hope I helped you.. |
