Bible Question: Is it exceptable for a person who earns their money from being a Evangelist, Teacher, Preacher, or Apostle, to have a very expensive, high standard of living? What Biblical base do you use for your answer. |
Bible Answer: Matt 2:11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. I have serveral comments regarding this. Upon the Lord Jesus birth. The wise men bought him gold. And I don't believe that they gave him a couple of pieces. I believe that they gave him plenty. Surely the Lord Jesus didn't live an extravagant live. But that wasn't his purpose. Deut 25:4 "You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing This scriptures says that one is suppose to make sure that Ministers, Evangelist, etc have enough so they can carry out the gospel without hinderances. Mark 15:24 And they *crucified Him, and *divided up His garments among themselves, casting lots for them to decide what each man should take. I use this scripture to show that Jesus's wardrobe was not polyester. This men was casting lots so that once He was dead or even before they could sell his garments. 2 Cor 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. Basically what I am saying is that I don't believe that there is nothing wrong with living comfortably or very extravagant. Kings live very well...Why not a Kings Kid? But not at the expense where an individual is lying and taking advantage of people to gain wealth...But otherwise I see nothing wrong with it. |
