101 | Is eating out on Sunday wrong? | Bible general Archive 3 | skccab | 192569
Hello Michael03 Don't worry about it. Sunday is NOT the day G-d gave for rest and worship. Aside from that, your friend has no right to try to put that condemnation on you. (As to the cooks and waiters/waitresses, those people are already there at "work" whether or not anyone comes in to eat). Cheri |

102 | Why is Enoch not at the Trasnfiguration? | Bible general Archive 3 | skccab | 192874
Hi Jesusman, For starters I have no clue either, but I did have a thought that no one else has brought up. Of the 3 that did appear at the transfiguration - they were all of the lineage of Noah and Enoch is not.? He was toward the end of the genealogy that brought in the flood. What do you think, could there be something in that? Shalom Cheri |

Sorry, I forgot about the Torah. Are you wanting a Torah scroll? (They're very expensive, if you get one that's Kosher.) But you can just Google Torah Scroll or Sefer Torah Scroll (the Sefer scrolls are the ones that are expensive). Shalom Cheri |

109 | three wedding ceremonies | OT general | skccab | 198792
Shalom William, I think you might get a better response if you would provide book/chapter/verse on this "wedding week." I, personally, have no idea about 3 ceremonies within a week's time. Thank you Cheri |

110 | Matthew 26:17-30 Mark 14:12-26 Luke 22 | OT general | skccab | 201979
Shalom Sonja, I'm actually not sure which feast you're asking about, but will assume that it's the Feast of Unleavened Bread, since it's not as widely discussed in churches as is Passover. This sounds like a class assignment, therefore, you need to discover the answer for yourself. But I will help you get started. :-) Think in terms of leaven being that which not only rises and increases but also creates decay and corruption. You can read about the feast in Exod. 12-13 and Deut. 16. Have fun learning about our God's appointed times Cheri |

111 | 4 questions about kings and priests | OT general | skccab | 202118
Shalom Cthorne, 1 - The High Priest was a direct descendant of Aaron and his sons - Exod. 27:21, 29:19-35, 40:12-16 to name a few references. The steps? Are you talking about the "inauguaration of"? Could you elaborate a bit more on that? Thanks. Now by the time of Messiah, I think they were chosen by lots - Lk 1:8-9, 23 but I'm not sure that this is the office of High Priest, but rather of Temple priests to serve for a portion of the year. 2, 3 - I'll get back to you on these :-) 4 - I think the king is question might be Jeroboam 1 Ki. 12:31, 13:33. Maybe this will get you started and I'll look further into questions 2 and 3. Cheri |

112 | 4 questions about kings and priests | OT general | skccab | 202119
Hi again, OK, it looks like it's Jeroboam that ran the God-appointed priests off as well as attempting to burn incense himself - 2 Chron. 11:13-15 And you can read about the cities in Lev. 25:32-34, Num. 35:2-8, Josh. 21:1-4 and 41-42, 1 Chron. 6:37-60 just to get you started. Oh, and also land that others would devote to the Lord Lev. 27:21 could be theirs. Hope this has helped :-) Cheri |

113 | How old was Joseph when he went to Egypt | OT general | skccab | 202384
Shalom Chaplain-Pastor, Welcome to the forum! The Bible tells us in Gen. 37:2 that Joseph was 17 years old. It doesn't appear that too much time passed between verse 2 and verse 28 where he was actually sold and taken away. :-) Cheri |

115 | Harvest Time | OT general | skccab | 207308
Good afternoon Jim, Passover is actually only a 1day observance, it seems longer because the day after begins the week long observance of the feast of Unleavened Bread or Matza. At the end of Matza, 50 days are counted to the feast of Shavu'ot (Pentecost) - this is the celebration of the spring harvest, of first-fruits, Lev. 23:10-21. Lev. 23:39-43 is also a feast of first-fruits, of the fall harvest. It is called Feast of Tabernacles, feast of Booths, or just Sukkot. Still learning, too :-) Cheri |

As to your question about Passover being considered a part of Shavu'ot, I don't believe it was other than simply being a reminder that "first-fruits" was just around the corner, kind of like Thanksgiving is a reminder that Christmas is just around the corner. Maybe someone else can help with this question? Still learning, too :-) Cheri |

119 | What was donation of money to the poor? | OT general | skccab | 209874
Shalom Elisabeth, Welcome to the Forum!! I'm not sure exactly what you are wanting to know, but I'll try. God had ordained at least 3 different tithes, one of these being for the poor. Dt. 26:12, Amos 4:4 (I think), Mal. 3:8 and 10. When the Israelites first entered the land these tithes were almost 100percent foodstuffs; by Messiah's time many people, like us, lived by money, so there was a box in each synagogue called a tzedeka (spell?) box and this is where the widow's money went, and that money would be used for good deeds to the poor and needy, the stranger and traveller (or it was supposed to be for that). This particular tithe was required every third year. Hope this helped a bit Cheri |

120 | What was donation of money to the poor? | OT general | skccab | 209875
Hello again Elisabeth, I forgot to include the fact that "offerings" over and above the tithe would also be put in the box on a daily/weekly basis. Cheri |
