Shalom Jedai Here is a link to Hebrew4Christians: http://forums.hebrew4christians.com/ You'll have to navigate around to get to the registration page - but you'll probably find a place where your questions about Catholicism can get an answer, or begin a discussion about your topic if you're wishing to voice you opinions. Or just use the Yahoo public forum (Religion/Spirituality) to begin a discussion. This forum is a Study of the Bible, using the Bible itself to answer questions (not "opinions"). :-) Cheri |

23 | How has Judaism influenced Christianity? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 201457
Shalom Patty, Welcome to the Forum. Well, let's get things rolling here ... You speak of 'christianity" as something apart from Judaism - it was never intended to be. (The term christian is used in the book of Acts - christianity is never used in the Bible.) Messiah was the promised King of the Jews, He was born King of the Jews, He was crucified and died and risen as the King of the Jews, and He will return as the King of the Jews, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. He will set His throne in Zion. See Rom. chapter 11, just to start. Cheri |

shalom cockroach, Is the below what you're looking for? It's all I could find - maybe someone else will have a better search :-) Deu 32:2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Cheri |

29 | therefore the lord blessed the sabbath | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202150
Shalom tenderheart Welcome to the Forum. Don't be confused. If you can find a scripture that says "Observe My Sunday" then by all means, do so. Meanwhile, you have found a scripture (there are actually dozens) that say "Observe My Sabbath." Reading through the four Gospels, you'll find Jesus observing Shabbat/Sabbath; throughout the Book of Acts, it is the Sabbath that is observed. It was a man who chose to change it from the God-ordaind Sabbath to Sunday. Josh. 24:14-15. "...as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." There is great joy in obeying God's commands. Cheri |

30 | ten commandments are they valid today | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202168
Shalom tenderheart, 1 - Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deu 12:32 (13:1) All this word which I command you, that shall ye observe to do; thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Rev 22:18 I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book: 2 - Mat 5:17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. The Torah is alive and well in 2008!! Deu 30:8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of Jehovah, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day. Deu 30:9 And Jehovah thy God will make thee plenteous in all the work of thy hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, for good: for Jehovah will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers; Deu 30:10 if thou shalt obey the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law; if thou turn unto Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul. Deu 30:11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not too hard for thee, neither is it far off. Deu 30:12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it? Deu 30:13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it? Deu 30:14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. Deu 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; Deu 30:16 in that I command thee this day to love Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in the land whither thou goest in to possess it. Deu 30:17 But if thy heart turn away, and thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; Deu 30:18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish; ye shall not prolong your days in the land, whither thou passest over the Jordan to go in to possess it. Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed; Deu 30:20 to love Jehovah thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. I have sat and listened to a Lutheran, a Methodist, a Baptist, a Church of God, and a non-denominational pastor preach a sermon on the above passages. We christians love the promises of God but we sure do get squirmy when it comes to hearing what He expects His people to look and act like. Hope this helped :-) Cheri |

31 | Anything asked will be given | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202337
Good morning Ian, Welcome to the forum. The key is praying in God's will. There are some things we pray about that we can know for sure that we are praying within God's will, i.e., the salvation of someone (Matthew 28:19-20 to state just one). In Matthew 6:10 Messiah teaches us to pray "...Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..." Revelation 21:4 tells us that in the world to come tears will be wiped away, there will no longer be any death, nor any mourning, or crying, or pain - so these things must be His will. James 5:14-15 tells us to pray for the sick and the Lord will hear and heal - this must be His will. Our problem is that if we don't SEE the results of our prayers immediately, we think God is not answering us. We forget that God answers in His time, and His time is not our time. Now, when it comes to things like should one change careers, move to a new state, start a new business, etc....these things must be in line with God's word and the intent must line up with God's word. And the person still must remember that if and when God answers in the positive, it will still be in His time (and sometimes He may say NO, and we just refuse to hear it) So you see? When you are praying in God's will you will get an answer (just not always the one desired, and not always in our time-frame). Sorry I couldn't help more, but others much more knowledgeable, I'm sure will be happy to answer you more fully. :-) Shalom Cheri |

32 | Why do you respond? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202420
Terry, What makes you think anyone of us are negative, criticizing or ridiculing you? If you think I have treated you that way, I apologize and ask your forgiveness for that was certainly not my intention! As for the others, I've known them almost on a daily basis for over a year, and they are only loving, gracious brethren in the Lord (and I might add, extremely knowledgeable). We are only trying to figure out what you are wanting to discuss. Mass conciousness, spiritual networking.... these are not bible study topics. Since you think they are, please explain it to us, bring us up to speed :-) Cheri |

33 | Satan murdered who at beginning of time | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 202602
Shalom Shenny, Welcome to the Forum! Genesis chapter 3 will tell you about how satan committed the first murder (by using deception). Through his deception, Eve took of the forbidden tree (which God said would cause her to die) and gave it to her husband, and he, too, ate; thus, death (spiritual and physical death) for all of us. Enjoy your study! Cheri |

36 | Ezekiel's Temple updated | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203105
Hey Doc, Yes, we probably did, and since then I have heard many different views. But I ran across 2 verses last night that I swear weren't there the last time I read Ezekiel :-). (Of course, they just didn't register in my brain the last time I read them.) 47:22-23. Those just jumped out at me last night and I haven't been able to forget them. There are a lot of new "regulars" now so I was hoping to get a few views, maybe not different, just a few different people. And just because something has been discussed before should not exclude it from being discussed afresh. :-) I know those chapters are not describing the old Temple, but those chapters are there for a reason, and with those 2 verses now, I'm just trying to pull it together, hopefully with help. 37 | Before, during, or after? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203112
Good morning Brad, I guess now the question for me is am I understanding those 2 verses correctly. I see us, Believers, as the aliens being grafted into Israel. The original question was: are those chapters, Ezek. 40-48 about an allegorical, or metaphorical temple, is it the heavenly temple, or the tribulation, or millennial, or maybe the newly renovated earthly temple? I apologize for being redundant, but I hoped that maybe some of you folks had learned or heard some new thoughts on the subject over the past year that you'd be willing to share :-). Shalom Cheri |

38 | Does it Really matter? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 203420
Shalom Zanna Lynn, The Lord will accept worship on any day. BUT there is a blessing associated with keeping the Sabbath, which is the day God - not man - ordained as holy, and He has never rescinded this ordination. This blessing is associated with the Sabbath only, not Sunday, or Wednesday, etc. Read Isaiah 58:13-14. Cheri |

39 | is it's possible to stop the will of God | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 205429
Shalom Silasfirst, See Gen. 18:20-19:29 where Abraham pleads for the righteous that might be found in Sodom and Gomorrah. And Exod. 32:7-14 where Moses pleads for Israel as a whole. (I love the way God tells Moses "YOUR people" where they had always been "My people" up to this point!!) There is one other time that God was going to destroy Israel and Moses intercedes but I can't remember where it is. Anyone? Cheri |
