Greetings Kam! One way to respond would be to point out that there is a difference between preaching against homosexuality and punishing it by death. It is affirmed throughout the Old and New Testaments that homosexuality is a sin. However, the particular punishment of death was only part of the covenant with Israel. God's immutability only refers to God's character, not His interactions with us. At one time, people were required to offer sacrifices at the temple, but now we are no longer expected to do so. Noah was commanded to build an ark. Have you built one lately? ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Dear Mr. Moran, How do I explain the words of Jesus, that heaven and earth must pass away before even one jot or tittle or any part of the law fails? kam |

Hello kam, If you don't mind me interjecting, here's what C.H. Spurgeon noted about this passage in his Commentary of Matthew: 18. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. "Not a syllable is to become effete. Even to the smallest letters, the dot of every “i”, and the crossing of every “t”, the law will outlast the creation. The Old Testament is as sacredly guarded as the New. “The Word of the Lord endureth for ever.” Modern critics have set themselves an impossible task in their endeavor to get rid of the inspiration of the whole sacred volume, or of this book, or that chapter, or that verse; for the whole shall come forth of their furnace as silver purified seven times."
