Actually, Ed, (coming from where you are pointing) I believe the promises AND the moral laws apply. However the fine line of difference which is probably the fine line of debate here, is that God desires us to worship, obey, follow from the heart. Obedience to the letter of issues like tatoos do not correct conditions of the heart. External obedience is not what God seeks. If it were, there would be no need for Jesus. One can obey externally in all the moral laws and still be out of God's will. I would tell someone that scripture forbids it and that they should seek the Lord for the 'change of heart'. But if someone has not matured to that level and has the tatoo anyway, or already has one, condemnation is not in order. They are, after all, His. The direction you are pointing clearly states that FAITH IN and OBEDIENCE TO the word of God is the ONLY way the born again believer can receive anything from God. |

Graceful I agree with you entirely, however that is not what Inmyheart said if you read their first input to this thread. In the fourth paragraph Inmyheart of the two part teaching Inmyheart literally said this was a law given to Israelites and was done away with by Jesus. That has been my point of contention in all of this. The tattoo is nothing in itself but it does speak of bigger probblems. My alarm came when Inmyheart virtually declared the Old Testament as past history and nothing else. To me that is not rightly dividing the Word of God, that is what I have been addressing. EdB |
