Inmyheart I have to say this. What your saying is we can dress like a harlot, act like a harlot as long as we aren't a harlot at heart. Thanks my Bible is getting lighter I just ripped Romans 14:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of: Do you have any idea what your saying? Christ's death did not serve to give us license! And don't accuse me of clothesline preaching because that is not what I’m trying to show you. I'm saying there are some things, tattoos being one, that serve no purpose other than gratifying some dark personal need, and goes against what God has commanded against. We are to do all things as unto the Lord. Your certainly aren't going to say we are glorifying the Lord as we paint over what He created are you? Or that we are honoring God by getting a tattoo, are you? Do you think God is happy when a child of His gets a tattoo? Does it put a smile on His face? Are you trying to say tattoos are pleasing to the Lord? EdB |

EdB, No matter how lighter your bible may be getting, I'm not saying what you are stating in your post. Debate all you want, but those who want tattoos are gonna get them no matter what. And those who don't want them will most likely always think the idea is too extreme. But, if we’re gonna concern ourselves this much with a topic and exert so much energy let's be most concerned with the Word of God being tattooed on their heart and whether or not their names are tattooed in the Lamb's Book of Life. Anything beyond that just isn’t worth arguing over. And Thank you for your prayer. About three hours on the streets, one young man recieved Jesus into his heart, Rom. 10:9-10. Praise God. God bless |

Inmyheart This isn't about tattoos but grace, license to sin, what your telling others. The facts remain God commanded against certain things in the Old Testament. While we are no longer under the penalty of the Law we are still to keep the Law (provided it hasn't been fulfilled as in the case of Sunday Worship) or further clarified (as in the case of dietary laws). Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! As I stated earlier the Old Testament contained many moral laws that are not mentioned in the New Testament, by your reasoning we should throw them all out. Doesn’t that sound absurd to you? Yet that is exactly what your saying, more importantly your saying it to others in effect giving them license to make bad decisions. If someone came to the forum and asked where does a Bible state a prohibition against marrying his sister what would you give them for an answer? You would be forced to give him an Old Testament verse. Would you also say that was the Old Testament which we no longer are under and God doesn’t look at the outward appearance but rather the heart. So if your heart is pure marry your sister. I think not. If a someone wrote in and said their neighbor was mistreating their animals and they want a Bible verse that prohibits that type of behavior would you say all the prohibitions are under the Law so he is free to do what he pleases? Basically our whole societal moral code was established under Old Testament law. The basis for our laws on liability, manslaughter, thief, property, slander and conduct in general were first written in the Old Testament. Read through Exodus chapters 21 and 22 and tell me if you can’t see this. These are the laws you want to throw away. While the societies penalty may not be the same, Jesus taught us compassion and the second chance, the crime is no less noxious. EdB |
