jlpangilinan, i whole-heartedly agree that the commands of Christ are crucial for us to obey and if Christ had given me a command NOT to get a tattoo i wouldn't... we both know, though, that he made no such command. answering this statement... "I dont think for having tatoo you can glorified Christ, He had speak many thing in the new testament how we can Glorified God and I am very sure that tatoo is not including in it." how are you so sure tattoos cannot be included in glorifying God? in this "list" of ways we can glorify Christ did He include glorifying Him on an internet message board? did He include glorifying Him while working at your job? did he include glorifying Him while playing sports? did he include glorifying Him while enjoying time with your family? i think we can both agree that you are able to glorify God with any of the activities listed above but they are not specifically named as "approved" ways to glorify God. in the same way, tattoos can be used to glorify God. one final question, if getting a tattoo that says JESUS IS LORD! is not glorifying to God then who is it glorifying? Montag, Quote "how are you so sure tattoos cannot be included in glorifying God?" I am sure that it is not included, because in the first place it is prohibited in the old testament, and there is no teaching of Christ stated that it is ok now to have tatto and it can glorified God. When crist freed us from law it is not meant that all of teaching in the old testament was erase or change. Honor your parents is included in the teaching of law but it indeed existing in the commandsments of Christ. If you want to love God with all your strenght soul mind and might I dont think you need tatoo to observe this, while tatoo is prohibited of the law I dont think Christ will ok on it, and besides there were no followers of Christ that done tatoo in his/her body just to glorified Christ. If having tatoo is necessary I am sure the apostle done it. If you want to love your neighboor as you love your self, I dont think tatoo is necessary, here in the Philippines if you have tatto you lost the opportunity to donate blood, the Hospitals refuse to received donation from the person that has tatoo. In this perspective you also loose the opportunity ti give blood if someone needs you. 1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Your body is owned by God, did He ask you to have some tatoo to glorified Him? If you think tatoo is necessary for gloryfying God that is your decision but scriptures will not supported that. If God forbid tatoo, I am sure He didnt like it, and all God's deslike it is the favorite of the enemy. God bless, |
