1 | Can you lose your salvation? | Bible general Archive 1 | D.D.1961 | 43981
It says a few times in the bible to be careful not to lose your salvation. I thought that "once saved" is "always saved". Any comments. Thanks! D.D.1961 |

Nowhere does the Bible speak of "losing" one's "salvation", at least not in those exact words. Moreover, I am not aware that the term "once saved always saved" appears in the text of the Bible in those exact words. Using the concordance feature at (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/) I made an interesting discovery. This is what I found when I looked for the words lose and salvation in the same verse; and also when I looked for the words lost and salvation in the same verse. King James Version "Your search query for 'lose salvation' did not return any results. Please modify your search query and try again." "Your search query for 'lost salvation' did not return any results. Please modify your search query and try again." Please note: the information above is NOT MY OPINION of anything. These are objective, verifiable FACTS. There is no place in the King James Bible in which the words lose and salvation or lost and salvation occur in the same verse. It just isn't there. Note: I am not necessarily saying the Bible does or does not teach these doctrines. ALL I am saying is that you will not find those statements in the Bible IN THOSE EXACT WORDS. |

Kalos, our assurance of salvation is to be in our knowing the reality of the 2k yr old man we call Jesus being alive today as our Lord and Savior, and NOT what the EXACT WORDS of the KJV are or are not.

Why are you telling me that? I have no need for you to lecture me. Quoting my own Note, I reiterate: "Please note: the information above is NOT MY OPINION of anything. These are objective, verifiable FACTS. There is no place in the King James Bible in which the words lose and salvation or lost and salvation occur in the same verse. It just isn't there. "Note: I am not necessarily saying the Bible does or does not teach these doctrines. ALL I am saying is that you will not find those statements in the Bible IN THOSE EXACT WORDS." Did I not make it plain that I am not discussing the doctrine of Eternal Security vs Eternal Insecurity? My note merely addressed the original question, which was: 'It says a few times in the bible to be careful not to lose your salvation. I thought that "once saved" is "always saved".' My point was and is 1) It does NOT say in the Bible to be careful not to lose your salvation. 2) The Bible does not say "once saved always saved." All I did was to clarify what the Bible does and does not SAY. I was not getting into interpretation. So why do you reply to me and lecture me on "our assurance of salvation"? Also, I see no need or biblical precedent for referring to Christ as "the 2k yr old man we call Jesus." The Lord Jesus Christ has many names and titles in the Bible. "The 2,000-year-old man" is not one of them. |

7 | Should I apologize to kalos | Bible general Archive 1 | tomn | 44841
Will anyone tell me I should apologize to kalos for not seeing any good reason for how he replied to me?
8 | Should I apologize to kalos | Bible general Archive 1 | Makarios | 44845
Philippians 2:3 "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;" Hebrews 10:24 "and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds," Yes, you should apologize to Kalos and attempt to make peace with him. Blessings to you, Makarios |
