Bible Question:
It says a few times in the bible to be careful not to lose your salvation. I thought that "once saved" is "always saved". Any comments. Thanks! D.D.1961 |
Bible Answer: Your relationship with God(John 1:12) is secure (1 Peter1:3,4)because, through Christ, you are forgiven and accepted by God. In addition to providing this secure RELATIONSHIP(John 10:27-29)(Hebrews 13:5), God also desires for you to walk closely with Him and communicate with Him throughout each day. This is called FELLOWSHIP (Colossians 2:6). When we choose to sin(Psalm 32:3-5), our RELATIONSHIP (our position as God's children) is not affected, but our FELLOWSHIP is interrupted(Psalm 66:18). Though all Christians have a RELATIONSHIP with God, not all Christians are experiencing FELLOWSHIP with Him(1 John 1:9). While it is true that Hebrews 6:4-6 considers BACKSLIDING as a serious sin, the word of God has given us Revelation 2:4-5, 3:2-3, 15-21 as our way to be brought back to FELLOWSHIP with our Lord! |
