Both baptized and unbaptized babies go to the same place when they die. I don't know to what religious organization, if any, you belong. For all I know, you could be Muslim, Hindu, Confucist, Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Christian Science, Catholic, Protestant, or none of the above. But, evangelical Christians normally agree that babies, baptized and unbaptized, do not go to hell, but go to heaven. I believe that unborn, newborn and infants go to heaven. (Small children, too, and very possibly mentally challenged adults.) For this belief and hope (I have children in heaven), I have two reasons: 1. God is just. Although I know we are all conceived and born with a sinful nature, I also believe that God, in His goodness and justice, would not allow an innocent who has not had the opportunity to commit sin to suffer eternal punishment. 2. King David's child died and he said, "I will go to him, but he will not return to me." Meaning, I believe, that David had full expectation of seeing his child again in heaven. 2 Sam. 12:15-23. |
