Subject: Unbaptized children |
Bible Note: Rextar, Thank you for your reply. You said yourself that the apostles were surprised the Gentiles received the Spirit just as they did (Acts 11:15). The Spirit came on the apostles in a unique way, only to be replicated with this Gentile conversion. You quote Acts 10:35 to defend the idea that some Gentiles must have been converted after Pentecost and before Acts 10:44. Did you read the passage (Acts 10:34-35) in context? Peter says “I NOW REALIZE how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accept men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.” See Acts 11:1-18; Peter explaining to his Jewish brothers why he went to a Gentiles house, and you will see that the Jews were just accepting the fact that God accepts Gentiles too (Acts 11:18). Point being is that the Spirit was given without baptism only to usher in the Kingdom of God, first to the Jews, then to the Gentiles. My challenge to you is to show me IN THE SCRIPTURES where the Bible says what water baptism is. Also, why did the Lord Jesus command his apostles in the great commission (Matt. 28:18-20) to baptize? Does the Bible command this baptism without any explanation? There is a great study on the forum about this whole subject (page 3, 10-01-01). If you want to seriously study this out, I suggest you dig into the book of Acts and use the study on the forum. I have spent the last month doing so myself , it’s a deep subject that needs time to understand fully. Look forward to hearing from you, Kin |
