You'll get more than you want probably, so I'll give a short answer. Baptism is the washing away of the sins of a beliver -Spiritual (Holy Spirit) ... (Rom 5:10, 6:3). This baptism occurs at salvation. -Water (outward) baptism ... (Acts 22:16). This occurs after salavtion, and is not required for salvation. It is an outward sign of an inward change. Thank you for your reply, You have come up with a fine sounding argument about water baptism being "an outward sign of an inward grace" but have left no scriptural basis for this belief. I've heard this definition before and have yet to see where it teaches this in the Bible. What is the baptism Jesus commands in Matt. 28:18-20? If it isn't water baptism then the Bible leaves this baptism undefined. Kin |
