Some Christians don't feel they are essential teachings. Which is beyond my understanding. The Book of Tobit is one of the BEST! We are introduced to the Archangel Raphael and shown just how angels can interact with man. Leaving us to wonder just how many "people" who have helped us along the road of life may have been angels... | ||||||

LisaMarie: With all respect, it is not that some Christians don't feel that the books of the Apocrypha are essential teachings, although that may be true. When it is excluded from the Bible, it is because the Apocrypha is not inspired as are the 66 books of the Bible. In itself that doesn't mean the Apochrypha has no value whatsoever -- just that they are not inspired by God. Grace to you, kalos |

Thanks for your input Kalos! As for no value [big smile] - I love them! Who are we to say what is (and what is not) inspired by God. As I've been reading what others have said, lesser books written in Greek and Latin. Well, the Bible is loaded with stories of Hebrews who all thought they were better than someone else. God spoke to the Greeks. I'm currently reading the section in Acts in a very old Douay Rheims Version where Paul goes to preach the gospel to the Greeks. Perhaps God sent him there specifically to His Greeks. To help those who he had chosen earlier. Then again, maybe I'm just in need of a good strong coffee??? Hugs! |
