1 | Rev 2:17 additional question | Rev 2:17 | MstrdSeed | 15675
Does this mean that only the 144,000 who receive a new name on this white stone will go to heaven to spend eternity with God? What about all the people being saved now? If we are not being saved from hell for heaven, what for then?
2 | Rev 2:17 additional question | Rev 2:17 | kin | 15766
Considering that the 144,000 were male virgins (Rev. 14:4), I wouldn't take it for what it says. And that only because Rev. is a very symbolic book. We need to study the things of the Bible that are clear and apply them to the things that are not as clear. To derive doctrine from the book of Rev. is not wise.
3 | Rev 2:17 additional question | Rev 2:17 | Makarios | 15771
Dear kin, You have stated "To derive doctrine from the book of Rev. is not wise." So does this mean that we should not put any stock into what the book of Revelation states about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? Is there any "final victory" of Christ over Satan? Is there any 'judgment' that occurs for those who do not believe and live in sin? Is there any hope of a believer to enter into heaven? I believe that to completely ignore the 'doctrine' in the Book of Revelation, which is part of the Word of God, is not wise at all!! And if you are a Bible believing Christian who believes in the authority of the Word of God alone (above tradition, church leader, etc), then you should know better than to believe in only certain parts of the Bible and ignore that which you do not. --Nolan |

4 | Rev 2:17 additional question | Rev 2:17 | kin | 16874
Nolan, My point was not to say we can’t use the book of Rev. to derive doctrine but rather it is dangerous to use it SOLELY in order to derive doctrine. My apologies. Kin |

Thank you Kin, I would agree! We must base our beliefs on the whole of Scripture rather than a single verse, book, etc.. I agree and forgive you, and pray that I wasn't a little too "sharp" in my response! :) Blessings to you, Nolan |
