NASB | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.' |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God], to him I will give [the privilege of eating] some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone with a new name engraved on the stone which no one knows except the one who receives it.' Subject: Rev 2:17 additional question |
Bible Note: Dear kin, You have stated "To derive doctrine from the book of Rev. is not wise." So does this mean that we should not put any stock into what the book of Revelation states about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? Is there any "final victory" of Christ over Satan? Is there any 'judgment' that occurs for those who do not believe and live in sin? Is there any hope of a believer to enter into heaven? I believe that to completely ignore the 'doctrine' in the Book of Revelation, which is part of the Word of God, is not wise at all!! And if you are a Bible believing Christian who believes in the authority of the Word of God alone (above tradition, church leader, etc), then you should know better than to believe in only certain parts of the Bible and ignore that which you do not. --Nolan |
