NASB | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.' |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God], to him I will give [the privilege of eating] some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone with a new name engraved on the stone which no one knows except the one who receives it.' [Ps 78:24; Is 62:2; 1 John 5:5] |
Bible Question: Does this mean that only the 144,000 who receive a new name on this white stone will go to heaven to spend eternity with God? What about all the people being saved now? If we are not being saved from hell for heaven, what for then? |
Bible Answer: the white stone denotes the singular and cannot be linked to the 144000. as for the interpretation i would say is for him alone who receives the white stone. the 144000 are those who, having believed jesus in life, are free from the temptation which would come upon all mankind. it is indeed a great reward to believe in the living god. those who are being saved now are those who yet shall have the temptation come upon them.is god not great! shalom |
