NASB | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.' |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God], to him I will give [the privilege of eating] some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone with a new name engraved on the stone which no one knows except the one who receives it.' [Ps 78:24; Is 62:2; 1 John 5:5] |

Bible Note: I agree with this one and so does Psalm 119:160 that says we have to use all of God's Word to establish truth about any particular doctrine. We just can't pull out what we want and use it, if other parts of God's Word say something to the contrary. There has to be a common ground where there is no contradiction between verses, if our doctrine is correct and true. God's word doesn't have any mistakes in it! CDBJ |
