NASB | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.' |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 2:17 'He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God], to him I will give [the privilege of eating] some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone with a new name engraved on the stone which no one knows except the one who receives it.' [Ps 78:24; Is 62:2; 1 John 5:5] |
Bible Question: Does this mean that only the 144,000 who receive a new name on this white stone will go to heaven to spend eternity with God? What about all the people being saved now? If we are not being saved from hell for heaven, what for then? |
Bible Answer: Considering that the 144,000 were male virgins (Rev. 14:4), I wouldn't take it for what it says. And that only because Rev. is a very symbolic book. We need to study the things of the Bible that are clear and apply them to the things that are not as clear. To derive doctrine from the book of Rev. is not wise. |
