2 | What does baptism consist? | 1 John 5:6 | Norrie | 23276 | ||
Baptism is what you do in obedience to God's Word to acknowledge that you are a professing follower of Jesus Christ. It just signifies you being reborn, it doesn't cause it. :) Only if you accepted Jesus as Savior causes you to be reborn. A Bible teacher brought this up last week. You know how there's the ongoing discussion about sprinkling or immersion? He said don't let it cause a division between different denom, don't start a fight w/your different denom friends, but when Phillip met the enouch in the desert and talked w/him, when they came to a body of water, the enouch wanted to be baptized. Now if sprinkling was OK, they wouldn't have been crossing a desert w/o water so if sprinkling was acceptable, why'd they wait to get to a body of water? That just shows immersion is the way to baptize. :) |
