If we have to be baptized in obedience to Jesus, then, it is necessary to understand His baptism. How old was Jesus when He was baptised? He was 30 years old when He was baptised and began His ministry(Lk.3:23). Why was He baptized? He had to meet the righteous requirements of the law for the priesthood (Num.4:3, 23, 30, 35, 39, 43 and 47).Therefore, if one has to be baptized, then, he/she must wait until the age 30 years old, if it is to be likened to Jesus' baptism. He calls you a kingdom of priests (Ex.19:6; Isa.61:6; 1Pet.1:1). Absurb! Who is He speaking to? Israel! Study and cut straight the Word of truth it will reveal that the 12 were sent to baptize Israel(Matt.28:19-20). Yet Paul was not sent to baptize Gentiles (1Cor.1:17). Why the change in administration? We have moved from law (Israel's standard)to grace (Gentile's standard)(Rom.5:20-21; 6:14; Gal.2:11-14). DLH |
