Shalom and good evening to you I see what you are saying but then we go back to the point that if it isn't true, it's an untruth or a lie. Even a half truth is considered a whole lie (such as when Abram introduced Sarai as his sister which was true up to a point, but still a lie because it wasn't the whole truth). Now possibly Sarai's motive was more innocent than Abram's, but isn't it still a lie? Maybe I'm over-thinking the whole thing :-) Cheri |

Hi Cheri, I think unlike Abram and Sarai, in the case of Eve's misspeaking, we cant say wether or not Eve "believed" what she said, in which case we don't really know if it was a lie, so scripture doesn't really support her telling a lie. does it? Just my two cents sis. And I hope that made cents, ah, I mean, sense! :-) Shalom and God bless John |

3 | Adam and Eve Perfect or Flawed | 1 Tim 2:11 | skccab | 208131 | ||
Morning John and howdy Azure again You're right about not knowing what she was thinking, that's for sure. But I think maybe Azure hit the nail on the head. I hadn't thought about that at all - no real motive to lie. And lies generally do have some kind of motive. Perhaps if she thought just touching the fruit would result in death that would help keep her from thinking about eating it - didn't work though did it?? Thanks to both of you, dear sister and brother!! Cheri |
