HI CDBJ I reiterate. Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. With this now in mind, what makes you think, you will find in scripture where it says (when) he will return? Do you think there is scripture that tells us these things, so we can figure it all out before hand? If so, why do we have 3 different viewpoints? Wouldn't that be kind of counter productive for God to tell us that we wouldn't know, then give us all of the information so we could then know? Gods Elect will definitely know that the time is close, God will make sure when we should have the information, there won't be doubt, that is what we have now DOUBT. Where we are today, is no different than what has been happening for the last 2000 yrs. don't you think that people asked the same questions as the Spanish Inquisition was taking place? Aren't there a lot of events that need to be accomplished before the rapture? Are they happening? In answer to your question "When the Scripture says "the day or the hour" that is being relatively close don’t you think; how about the times and the seasons, that leaves us an approximation?" Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. First it says, (YE,YOU) know not the hour. That does mean us doesn't it? Then there is this. Matthew 24:40,41 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. One man, and one woman were saved weren't they, apparently they didn't know the hour. Then in Daniel it says. Daniel 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: Therefore, Can you depend on the (times) or the (seasons)? This is a reference to those that don’t know Bible doctrine, or they are outside of Christ. 1 Thes. 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. The next verse covers those that do know Bible doctrine. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. What is the sign of His coming, I can’t speak for you or what you know. 1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The disciples ask Christ what the signs would be and he gave them the answer to their three-part question. Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? Have we been deceived as to when the Lord will return? Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 2 Thes. 2:3 (A) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; CDBJ |

Greetings CDBJ, You preach it, brother!! Amen! I also believe that by studying God's feasts, we can also know the season (not the year, but the season, i.e., spring, summer, winter, fall, season of sowing, first harvest, second harvest). God gave us 7 prophetic feasts and Jesus fulfilled the first ones to the letter, and right on time. It stands to reason that the other, unfulfilled prophetic feasts will be fulfilled in like manner. Study them all out and see if you don't agree... |

That is a good possibility. I already did it. CDBJ |

:o) I figured you already had as I believe I remember reading somewhere that you've read The Sign. If I'm not mistaken the feasts are mentioned in the book. (Tho I've read many such books, so I could be wrong on this point.) I was speaking mainly to others who might be reading the thread and not studied the feasts. |

Greetings, I have read just about everything I can on eschatology and to date "The Sign" is the most accurate that I have come across. I was able to talk with the author about a year before he went home to be with the Lord and I was very impressed with his knowledge of future events, which he pulled from the Old Testament as well as the New. The beauty of his book is the way he pulled all of the Scripture together so that there weren’t any verses that seemed to contradict each other. Have a great day, CDBJ |
