1 | Is baptism done only once? | Eph 4:5 | Scribe | 42359
The Ethiopian Eunuech was baptized in water after believing on Christ by the preaching of Phillip. Ac 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. This was after pentecost. And Cornelius... Ac 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Ac 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Ac 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. This too was after the day of Pentecost. Baptism in water is to be done by all those that come to Christ. There is nothing fleshly about outward observance of water baptism. A good understanding in just how spiritual an exercise it is, can be obtained when you understand the necessity for us to make ourselves accountable. When we openly confess our Alegiance to Christ we win half, nay three forths of the battle, of the fight of drawing back the next day or the next week. This is a lesson learned that we would do well to remember through out our christian journey. When you find yourself struggling with any sin, make yourself accountable to others, confessing that you will have nothing more to do with that sin and are pledgeing your allegiance to Christ and Him alone. God Bless you all in your Study of God's Word. |

2 | Is baptism done only once? | Eph 4:5 | jmscott2 | 42373
the world today after the death of the apostles has confused the baptism of john with the great commision of jesus by using the acts of apostles instead of using the doctrinal epistles of the apostle themselves...read Acts 1:5....nobody alive today was their when jesus gave this great commission in matthew 28:19-20,but the holy spirit was John 14:26,and it is today also teaching this acts 11:16......please read galatians 4:1-10....also phillip preached jews only because he was scattered abroad. The eunich was a jew...proof:peter was the first to preach to the gentiles acts 10:28-45.and acts 15:7...now if the eunich was not a jew(Deuteronomy 23:1,and matthew 19:12)phillip taught the eunich about jesus and how he was baptized by john wanted to do the same thing(copy)asked to go down in the water.Remember phillip was not one of the chosen apostles so he had not known what jesus said about water baptism in acts 1:5...so he baptised the eunich in the water...notice he was dipped in the water but did it say he recieved the holy spirit in acts the 8th chapter..do you this very thing water baptism was debated back in pauls day read Acts 19:8-10...and 24-41....then read 2-6 again please.....the new baptism is with spirit read 2 corinthians 3:3 compare jeremiah 31:31-34.....read pauls words at 1 corinthians 1:14-17....paul knew better....it is high time people beg for the holy spirit to teach them john 14:26 and 16:12-14 and finally 1 corinthians 12:13

Not to attack you personally but this is one of the most bizzare and illogical approaches to scripture I have ever read. To claim that Phillip was mistaken , even though the Spirit confirmed his Word and ministry with catching him away to another place is going a little far to proove your point isn't it. Maybe, you are wrong. I think you need to think about this one a little harder. You will notice too many efforts to twist the word to fit.
4 | Is baptism done only once? | Eph 4:5 | jmscott2 | 42432
notice how the holy spirit works.....read acts 10:9-16....peter recieves a vision.now read acts 11:15-16....now he remembers compare john 14:26.Peter also made a mistake he remembered this in acts 1:5.Phillip had not been taught the baptism of holy spirit just like apollos read acts 19:2-7....peter was the first to preach to the gentiles read acts 15:7...and acts 10:28-45.the ethiopian eunich was a jew read matthew 19:12 compare deuteronomy 23:1......also it never said the eunich rec'vd the holy spirit it just said he went into the water.god never twist his words they are all in harmony and he uses who he wants...jeremiah 31:31-34....compare 2 corinthians 3:3...no where in the great commission given by jesus in matthew 28:19,20 do you see the word water!...read the latter part of matthew 3:11..john knew after jesus death water wasa no longer needed and so did paul read 1 corinthians 1:17....he knew this the real baptism was by jesus.....please read again acts 19:2-7.....so to answer your question yes phillip was mistaken he was but a man!He had to be taught that what jesus said in acts 1:5...my friend i have known this for years now god will reveal this jesus told his diciples in acts 1:4 jesus told his diciples not to leave jerusalem until the holy spirit came.so it did not matter how many people in any other city baptized with water it was not of holy spirit!phillip preached to jews only read acts 11:19.....religion and it's fleshly ordiances has weighed the people down like jesus said but read this....collisians 2:8-14..and 20-23...and galatians 3:1-5....god will you will see with holy spirit clear up everything!
