1 | Are there any true prophets/prophetss' t | Eph 4:11 | michael03 | 194426
Shalom. If that is the case, where does that leave the five fold ministry in Eph.4:11-12? According to those verses, prophets are still relevent. I do think that some people of the church use the word "prophet" to make their name more important. I have seen that prophets not only preach on prophesy in the Word of the Lord, but prophesy on peoples lives through the Holy Spirit. God bless, michael

3 | But is that relevant for today time sinc | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 194455
Hood Rat, There has always been allot of confusion and speculation over prophecy and it's relevancy for today. Go back and get into Judges. It tells us right off the bat of a generation that had been born and knew not God or his teachings. We read how God raised up individuals during that time in there history. These individuals were operating on already established principle. But it was new to that generation. So it is today. We have God's Word, well established and true, but new to those who haven't heard. Prophecy is not just foretelling but also forth telling. Old light but new to those who haven't heard. So in essence what you are saying is that "prophecy" may be new for those who are now following and understanding the word but for those that are in the word it has already been revealed to us?
5 | So in essence what you are saying is tha | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 194473
Hood Rat, Nope, not at all. Check out Judges 2:10. What I said is that it's new for those who have never heard. Who don't know. You won't know if you haven't heard. This is some thing we deal with in all generations. So as the Word is preached ( forth tell) it's old light but new those who have yet to hear. Once you've heard the Word it's no longer new (unknown) to you. You may not fully understand at the time but now it's not unknown any longer. There will be those who will reject the Gospel but when the time comes they will be without excuse. In Him, lionheart |
