Greetings Mike - Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;" Gen 1:26 "This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. . . .When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth." What was Adam's "likeness?" I'm not debating the "creation" of man - for indeed only two were "created", but I am questioning why you seem to deny Adam's likeness as the image of God, being passed on to Seth. Imo, we share in Adam's sin nature,(Rom 5:14) and in his image, the image of God, as well. mommapbs mommapbs |

Hey there mommapbs, If that is the idea you received from my post, my bad. I do not deny that at all. I was only commenting on the fact that God created Man, sometimes referred to Mankind which equated to Adam and Eve. The scripture says that Adam became the father of a son in his likeness, according to his image; and named him Seth. I agree with you that Adam was created in the likeness of God, but Genesis clearly states that Seth was in the image of his father Adam. Mike |
