Personal profile for user screen name: STTIL any may contact me at my email: sttil at msn.comI have been a searcher of truth since 1976, I have spent the last 18 years in study of Holy Scripture. I believe the Bible is of no private (which includes church) interpretation. The Scriptures interpret themselves. Each verse is interpreted in the verse, in the context, or used before. Keys that must be kept in mind is: to whom is it written, to the Jews, Gentile, or Church of God, difficult verses must be understood in light of many easily understood verses on the same subject, make sure whether you are comparing events that are identical or just similar (like Jesus cursing the fig tree, similar not identical), figures of speech, meaning of words in their Biblical usage (quick means living, prevent means preceed, etc.), customs and mannerisms of Biblical times (heap coals of fire on his head is overcoming evil with good), it is after all an Eastern book. As the inspired Word of God it contains no error, fables, or contradictions. Just because a statement appears in the Word doesn't mean it is true-when the Word narrates a conversation it will say so-and-so said this or that. That so-and-so said it is true, but doesn't make what was said truth. great sources of information: http://www.faithfulstewards.com/index.htm http://www.earlychurch.com http://www.iclnet.org/ http://www.biblicalunitarian.com/ http://www.truthortradition.com/index.php Biblical Archeology, pretty cool stuff http://wyattmuseum.com/red-sea-crossing.htm (The above information has been submitted by the author for use solely by the StudyBibleForum.com) |
