Greetings Ray - I'll think on this a bit. It seems to me that God honors us as His beings, created in His image, by giving us the freedom of choice: to seek Him or remain in the darkness. Imo, because God has set eternity in the heart of men, I believe we all have an awareness of God. Yet, we lack the eyes to see or the ears to hear because we chose to ignore this awareness. I believe that when we CHOOSE to seek Him, He reveals Himself. More later. mommapbs |

This is Gen 5:1-3 (NIV) 1 This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. [1] " 3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. If you wil notice, only Adam was created in the image of God. When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. Seth was created in the image of Adam. Mike |

xmikx - From your post: "Seth was created in the image of Adam." ..... Did God form Seth out of the dust of the ground as He did Adam, thus CREATING Seth? Or was Seth the fruit of Adam's seed that was conceived in the womb of Eve? That is to say, was Seth the product of God's creation or of his parents' procreation? We've been along this road before and still must ask, how many human beings did God actually create? --Hank

Hank, You know that God did not form Seth out of the dust of the ground as He did Adam. Genesis 5:1-3 says this: 'This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. 2 He Created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them Man in the day when they were created. 3 When Adam had lived on hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth. (NAS) I would say that God actually created two human beings and those are Adam and Eve. pro·cre·ate v. pro·cre·at·ed, pro·cre·at·ing, pro·cre·ates v. tr. To beget and conceive (offspring). To produce or create; originate. Mike |

Thank you, Mike. So now we agree on the definition of the verb 'to create'? And do we still agree, as we discovered yesterday, that fasting means going without food and sometimes water? :-) How much easier communication becomes when we know and agree on the exact meaning of the words we use! :-) Blessings to you, Mike. --Hank
