Hi iktoose, I think you are reaching to the heart of this discussion, looking for the heart of Jesus. The only time we are santioned by the Bible to violate a law or orders given by the authorities over us is if it goes against God's law. Jesus "violated" the sabbath, according to the rulers, because He healed on the sabbath. But we know this was not God's true intent of the sabbath, and the Father's intent prevailed over the Pharisee's erroneous application. Are our immigration laws against God's law? If so, we have a matter of conscience to violate that law in favor of God's law. If not, how do we love these people that are in violation of those laws without being diobedient ourselves? What is the scripture that guides us? Iktoose, I am glad you brought this up, because its a discussion of "rubber on the road" application of scripture that that will benefit us all. God Bless! Love in Christ, Mark |
