1 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | Rom 6:3 | JWeaver | 164276 | ||
I liked this response. It may not give sa complete answer because that is the most difficult thing to do. Alot of replys are only in part,as is mine. Many people answer according to what they have been tought and not what they themselves have experienced. I have read a lot of information and attended a lot of different denominational churches. I find that each denomination has taken parts of the scriptures and stressed this as their doctrine. Tongues and Baptism are only two of these items. I might add that what they state is indeed scriptural. What most Churches seem to fail to recognise(as well as individuals) is that God controls all. Some say the Gifts are no longer given(using a scripture)others emphisize certain gifts(Tongues,Healing,etc.)Like the Churches of old we want to select what God is limited to. Lest we forget , God is soverign. What he request of you may not be the same thing he request of me. He may or may not give me a specific gift to accomplish the task he intends for me. I must shorten up this note so I will state that we should all belong to one Church. That Church must be Jesus Christ,s. Being Baptist, Catholic Later day Saint.J.W,s or any other Church will not get us to Heaven. We must belong to Jesus Christ. Likewise we must read Gods word (The Holy Bible)and not try to limit him to our beliefs. Watch thoses who proclaim they are Christian and you will soon be able to seperate the wheat from the tares. God loves all of you and wants you to be with him for eternity. Through Jesus Christ this is possible. |

JWeaver, Greetings and welcome to the forum.So many times we as individuals along with various denominations will stake our whole being on one verse or passage of scripture at the expence of the rest. We wind up missing out on so much. Romans 15:4-For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction,that through perserverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 Not every thing in the bible is addressed to us,but all of it is there for our learning. We will not know Gods will without having a solid foundation in His Word. In Christ, lionheart |
