1 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | Rom 6:3 | Searcher56 | 128902
Country Girl, If you add to His finished work (John 19:30), you are adding to what it takes to be saved, that is belief on Him (Acts 16:30-31, Roms 10:13 and others). The passage you cited is answered in post 113478. The Scripture is clear and consistent. Other passages used by those who think the baptism is needed to be saved have been twisted from the truth, therefore is trash. If one believes they need baptism to be saved are not saved and will not go to heaven, unless they renounced their false ways. While Alexander Campbell preached baptismal regeneration, he was never baptized this way. |

2 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | Rom 6:3 | David1740 | 128907
My observation, believing in Jesus the Christ equals Baptism. I say this because of the thief on the cross just believing. He had no time no time to be baptized. Matter of fact, he had no time to love the lord. What about people in the Hospice ward who would just believe before passing on? Maybe a glass of water poured over their heads would equal full submersion? What is the Lord’s heart in this matter? To be saved or absolute baptisms (mandatory) to be save? What does that sound like? If you have the time to be baptize, then by all means—do so! Thanks! |
