1 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | Rom 6:3 | cjjeep | 67 | ||
Ekip,yes you must be baptized into Christ to be saved. Romans 6:3 definitely explains that, to be in Christ, you must be baptized into Christ. If you continue to read chapter 6, Paul explained what he meant when he wrote "those who have been baptized into Christ have been baptized into his death." Romans 8:1 promises that there is no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus. How does someone get in Christ Jesus? Your question answered that: You must be baptized into Christ Jesus. Peter has answered your question even more directly in 1 Peter 3:21. |

Greetings and welcome to the forum! Our God is a God of forgiveness. There is not one person who was baptized that does not sin. Jesus said that when you repent of that sin then He will remember it no more (Heb 8:12), which is kind of hard to fathom. Someone once gave me an example that helped though. Imagine that when you ask for forgiveness your sin becomes a fish in the sea, Jesus (the fisherman) comes walking along but He can not go after that sin because the sign says no fishing. Another scripture is Psa 103:12: "As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us" (NKJ) Hope this helps. prayon |
