1 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | Rom 6:3 | jatfla | 9290
I'm really really new here, but I don't think Rom. 6:3 is referring to water baptism. I understood it to be referring to our position "in Christ". I think Paul explains this position in 1 Cor.12:13,27. What is true of Christ is true of those who are in His Body (which I believe is the Churh). I believe that our water baptism is a symbol/representation of our salvation. The one in Rom. 6 is a spiritual baptism where the Holy Spirit places us "in Christ" at the point of our redemption.

There is only ONE baptism -- not one of water as opposed to one of Spirit. (Eph 4:5). Baptism is immersion in water.
