1 | Can a toddler go to heaven? | Rom 3:23 | John Reformed | 77080
Hi Tim, What is your understanding of: 1 Cor 3:1-2 "And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. 2. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able," He says that because of their immaturity it was needfull for him to speak to them AS to "men of the flesh". He does not say they ARE "men of flesh". I believe an important distinction is made here in v.1! In v.2 he says they were able to recieve milk but not meat because they were infants "in Christ". The natural man of flesh cannot even recieve the milk because the milk (the absolute basics of the gospel) is one of the thigs that comes from God which must be spiritually discerned. (For this reason calvinists, such as myself, say that spiritual regeneration preceeds the natural man's ability to place his faith in Christ). What say Ye? (sorry...I'm a hopeless romantic) John Reformed |

2 | Can a toddler go to heaven? | Rom 3:23 | Morant61 | 77106
Greetings John! Is this addressed to me or to Disciplerami? Either way, I'll respond to Ye! :-) Verse one actually uses the term 'as' for all three phrases: - as spiritual - as fleshly - as babes in Christ. However, verse 3 does use a slightly different adjective, 'sarkikos', to describe them. But, in verse 3 it does not say that they are 'as' fleshly, but it says that they are 'still fleshly or carnal'. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
