1 | Can a toddler go to heaven? | Rom 3:23 | John Reformed | 76932
I've time for a short Q: You said "I disagree because Paul’s assessment of the Corinthian church is dire." My question is what changed from his assessment in chapter 1 to justify comparing them to unregenerate "natural" mankind? I do enjoy sharpening my iron against yours. I hope you have benefited as well. If nothing else, we have proven that two christians may disagree without becoming disagreeable. I will address your posts as God permits. John Reformed |

2 | Can a toddler go to heaven? | Rom 3:23 | Morant61 | 76984
Greetings John! Could 1 Cor. 3:1 be the answer to your question? While they ought to have been functioning as 'spiritual', under the direction of the Holy Spirit, they were in fact 'unspiritual', fuctioning according to the flesh. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi Tim, May I respond and get my two cents in before John does? :) I believe 1 Corinthians 3:1 does indicate the immature condition of the many Corinthian Christians. Here is the beauty of God's plan. As believers, born again, we aren't suddenly perfect. But because we have faith and are trying, God forgives instantly. He allows that imperfect children do walk in the light. The church at Corinth was the church, but needed some tweeking to improve its walk with God. Christians who have the Holy Spirit, are the temple of God, are admonished to not defile the temple. Only because they can does God warn them of it. The Ephesian letter speaks of the Christians being sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, the earnest of our salvation: 'with a view to the redemption of God's own possession." Later in the same epistle, Paul warns the Christians against 'grieving the Holy Spirit" by whom they were sealed. The Holy Spirit is grieved when Christians begin to act 'unspiritual', 'functioning according to the flesh', as you put it. Have a good day. |
