1 | Can a toddler go to heaven? | Rom 3:23 | Cyclist | 75708 | ||
sniper, Praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who thought not of His own life but gave His body a sacrifice for our sins! Blessed be the lamb of God forever! First of all thank you for allowing me the opportunity to enter the discussion. A few of us members "hashed" this subject out a few months ago. You may want to do a quick word search and see the postings. I had, and still have, difficulty accepting the fact that no where in the word of the Lord our God is there a verse that reads "All those little children who do not yet understand, or those mentally ill that are not able to understand the preaching of the gospel that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, died for their sins, and rose from the dead shall enter the kingdom of God." Search cover to cover sniper. You will not find it. Oh how I wish it were there! Believe you me I dug out every verse I could find or think of in the debate so that I could have closure in my spirit that infants/babies and little children enter the kingdom of God. The Lord my God has blessed me, as well as many others I'm sure, with a heart that loves and at the same time has a burden for children. A burden which I am very happy to bear. I weep for them. When I see a child no matter where I am my heart reaches out to them and I pray for them in my heart immdiately. Although there is not a verse found like the one I mentioned above, I am comforted by these. John 14:13 "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 16 John 14:14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. I ask the Lord our God in the name of Jesus to forgive the sins of infants/babies and little children. Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." ......... I pray that the Lord our God forgive and have mercy on these little ones for they know not what they do. Mark 3:28 "Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 18 Mark 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"-- Does an infant/baby or a toddler have the ability to knowingly blaspheme the holy spirit? John 20:23 "If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained." I wondered about this verse, but, as it was pointed out to me by an elder "We do not forgvie unto salvation. Only the Lord can do that." AMEN to that! Hope this helps sniper. By the way, how about filling in your personal profile. Always a brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

I think that you have applied these verses out of context. Will I be forgiven if you ask God to forgive me? Forgiveness is dependent on each person repenting and asking for forgiveness. If, as you say, they know not what they do, are they sinning? |

sniper, I will sing of the glory of my Lord who is Christ Jesus the wonderful counselor and prince of peace! Praise His holy name forever! First of all, are you looking for an argument? You write "Forgiveness is dependent on each person repenting and asking for forgiveness." It appears as if you have answered your original question for yourself. Second, I am not very good at debating or arguing. Third, You write "I think that you have applied these verses out of context." As Paul writes "1 Cor 4:3 But to me it is a very small thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court; in fact, I do not even examine myself. 1 Cor 4:4 For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord. 1 Cor 4:5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God." Lastly, I will gladly receive correction from one that has proven to me that they are an elder to me in Christ Jesus. You have not as yet done so. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

"Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water?" May our mouths spew only that which is good. Amen. Dear Cyclist, I am glad to be able to jump in here quickly, because Sniper-if I am understanding him-was making a good point. He was only pointing out how in your previous post to him, you quoted several verses to the effect that your prayer would bring forgiveness to unrepentant, depraved children. His response was not mean-spirited, but I think accurately pointed out that your prayer won't bring forgiveness to the unrepentant. And lastly, may I humbly say that you broke your own implied rule when you quoted: "1 Cor 4:5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time.." Isn't their, on your part, an implied judgment of Sniper? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Disciplerami. "Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment." -Amen |

disciplerami, I will praise the Lord my God for His mercy endures forever! I will praise the Lord my God for He loved me and provided salvation for me at the cross of Calvary! Blessed be His name forever! Please re-read my post and note that I wrote that I am not very good at arguing or debating. In reading through your posts, the total being 216 when I looked, it appears that you are very good at debating. I would humbly ask that you let me respond to sniper and do not attempt to drag me into a debate. However, I do understand that this is a public forum and you are entitled to enter any discussion you desire, and, I would welcome comment from you on any one of my posts so long as it is for the purpose of edification and not for the sole purpose of debate. 1 Cor 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? Blessings in Jesus name, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Cyclist, Greetings. My point is not to debate but " as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Pro.27:17). You are I and Sniper are helping each other to become sharpened swords. Such dialogue is good if done in the right spirit. Because I believe in the importance of the Gospel and the salvation that comes through Christ alone, my dialoge is "not for the sole purpose of debate." By the way, do you think that children go to heaven? Have a good day. |
