1 | The Gospel the sole means of salvation? | Rom 1:16 | John Reformed | 39397
Dear Searcher, I am in complete agreement. No man will be justified by the keeping of the law. The law was given to show how sinful we are. Those who use arguements about "What about the poor native in the jungle who never heard of Jesus etc." are attempting to avoid judgement by implying that God is not just. However, You and I _were_ presented with the Gospel but many, throughout history, have not. Why not? God is certainly able to see to it that ALL are granted the same chance to be saved! Was it just our good fortune? If it is His will that all be saved, why are'nt they ALL given the opportunity? John |

2 | The Gospel the sole means of salvation? | Rom 1:16 | meusing | 39403
Meusing here, Before Christ God chose Abraham and the Children of Israel to show His name to all men. In Christ he has given the world the church, or rather He has given the Church the world. It is our resposibility that the world HAS the oportunity to hear the Gospel. Think, it was His will that Ninevah (a heathen city) be saved, so he sent Jonah to preach repentance. It was upon Jonah's obedience in preaching repentance that the people of Ninivah repented and God was able to spare them. God uses us to bear the good news. there is life and salvation in no other than Jesus. It is an awsome responsibility, so we should figure out how we are going to present Christ to the lost rather than try to figgure out how God can save them without our obediance. just my meusings. |

3 | The Gospel the sole means of salvation? | Rom 1:16 | Morant61 | 39404
Greetings Meusing! Thanks for the reminder my friend! I have discussed the topic of "How can people be saved, who have never heard" several times on this forum. It has always been my contention that God will make Himself known. But, I forgot all about Ninevah. Here is a great example. Ninevah needed to hear, so God made sure that they did! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
