MJH No there are many that believe what they have been taught by ear ticklers. God promised blessings of obedience to Israel and God also spoke of curses of disobedience over Israel. Everyone wants the blessings of Israel but few want to accept consequences if their disobedience. Many teachers that want to increase their following have come up with a perfect plan, teach the church as a 'replacement' for Israel thereby inheriting all the promised blessings. Then they teach the church is no longer under the law. Therefore they have twisted scripture and logic in such a way that it is a best of both worlds situation The church has all the benefits of Israel but none of the consequences. That sounds good and most people like hearing that so each time they "must" go to church they make a decision do I want to hear a preacher tell me how I'm a servant, I need to witness Christ to others, and I need to live holy in righteousness forsaking all lusts? Or do I want to hear someone tell how all the wonderful promises made to Israel are mine with none of the responsibility? Who do you think has the biggest crowd? This is an over simplification of the actual problem with "replacement theology" but I think you get the jest of what it's all about. EdB |
