1 | Faith apart from reading the Bible? | Rom 10:17 | retxar | 20345 | ||
Hi Steve, One can certainly come to Jesus without reading it out of the Bible. God reveals Himself thru His Word, but many times His Word confirms what He has already revealed to our hearts; as in your case. To believe otherwise would be to deny the power of the Holy Spirit to speak to us. What He reveals to us will ALWAYS line up with the Word. In Christ Jesus, retxar P.S. I know you were only re-posting what had been posted to you, so I’m not talking to you, bro, but Christians should ask themselves if they want to use the word “darn” or not. It is only an alteration of damn and has no different meaning or connotation (look it up). If we would not say damn we should not substitute with the word darn (the way I see it anyway). Thanks bro, retxar. |

Thanks, retxar; I appreciate your reply, especially your observation that what God reveals to us will always line up with what the Bible teaches. What God revealed to me seemed true at the time; as I was drawn into the Bible, its truth was further confirmed. But I did use "darn" myself - indulging in a little parallelism, I guess. Your point is well taken. Peace and grace, Steve |
